Saw this at Haymarket yesterday (very grateful for the donated tickets). There was no popcorn on our seats - did some greedyguts gather up more than their fair share?
I'd been really looking forward to this and had read some really excited reviews. I thought it was funny but not really as moving or emotional as I'd been expecting. I find 3D to be a bit of an overblown puffy advertising tool. In this case it didn't add anything for me. Couldn't they have made some of the action come out of the screen so that it really felt 3D?
I was totally absorbed by the story and i thought it was beautifully realised. I didn't cry though!
Not quite blown away though, and I thought the 3d was a waste of time. 8 out of 10 from me.

At Haymarket they handed out the popcorn just before you entered the screen. Not sure how you could have missed that.

Over 200 adults were in Screen 6 at Boldon last night to see this at 8.15pm. Only one child in sight, or maybe it was Buzz Lightyear?
I loved it. We were laughing in the right places, and I thought they had the right mix of adventure, comedy, storyline, sadness, resolution to keep children of all ages - young to old - happily amused.
Not as good as the original in my mind, but well worth seeing. In fact my husband said this morning that we'll have to go again. (I wonder if he'll say that after the A-Team tonight ;) )

8/10 from me

Thu 22 Jul 12:34 PM

A mechanic from West Bromwich, who considers himself to be the world's biggest 'Toy Story' fan, has officially changed his name to Buzz Lightyear.

Such was Steve Bolton's love for the first two movies, he decided to do something special for the launch of ‘Toy Story 3’, so the 26-year-old contacted the UK Deed Poll Service and pa*d for the name change. Now he can legally have "Buzz Lightyear" on his passport (whether the destination "infinity and beyond" is acknowledged remains to be seen), credit cards etc.

Steve... sorry, Buzz, said about his decision: "I'm a massive fan of ‘Toy Story’, they are my favourite films and I've always thought Buzz would be the ultimate action hero - if he wasn't a toy.
"But it’s a great name, a great film and my girlfriend is going to love telling people she's going out with Buzz Lightyear.
"Her and my mates have told me before that I've got a cheesy grin and chin like Buzz, so perhaps it's a fitting name change.
"I hope kids will ask me for my autograph. It's going to feel great signing my name Buzz Lightyear and introducing myself to people at parties."
A spokesperson for the UK Deed Poll Service said: "Steve seems to be a dedicated fan and we were more than happy to help him out with his name change.
"It is an unusual one and we hope it brings him a lot of fun and luck in life."
Buzz is not the first film fanatic to change his name to a movie character. A 'Twilight'-obsessed couple from north Wales changed their names by deed poll from Bev and Steve Hart to Bella and Edward Cullen, after the movies' romantic leads, while Skegness-based charity worker Stephen O'Rourke changed his name to John Rambo after watching the Sylvester Stallone movies.
Well, that is certainly... dedication(?).

I'm gonna starting filling out my request to change my name to Starscream Megatron.

Saw it last night
9/10 - my only real complaint is that it didn't really follow a three act structure, being an end from the start. That said, it really added to the emotional impact of the inevitable tragedy (much like the penultimate book in Neil Gaiman's Sandman series), and there were some truly profoundly affecting moments.
Also recently watched the first two in blu ray (finished the 2nd literally one minute before leaving for the cinema), and I've got to say the trilogy as a whole is a masterpiece.
Top 50 Poster!

Saw this on Wednesday night with Orange Wednesdays. For me watching this was really nostalgic, I was eight when the first movie came out and it is right up there next to the Lion King and Alladin in my top three Disney movie list. So watching Toy Story 3, particularly the 'home movie' at the start of Andy as a kid playing with his toys, was really like being a kid again. But on the other hand, Andy being grown up made me feel old! I loved the film, laughed throughout and felt quite emotional at the end (but clearly not to the extent of the girl next to us who was crying buckets) and thought it was cool that the biggest screen in the cinema was jam-packed I think entirely with adults all watching a film about animated toys. The film for me has retained the TS magic, I really watched it spellbound, and Ken for me was really the star, absolutely hilarious!!

I've seen it for the second time on Friday in 3D. Well, it is a month since we seen it at Empire screen 1. Had a chance to compare 3D effects and.... the cartoon before the film was SUPER in Empire and ordinary in local vue... And the amount of trailers locally was also too much.... Еnjoyed the movie for the second timе but made a conclusion it was totally worth all the effort and travel expences to London/Empire (screen 1!!!). Oh, I did have my child with me on both occasions, who has a toy story blanket and lots of toys....
