Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Well when I got there my friend said they were handing it out to the first 15 people. When I got into the screen, milkchocmonkey was there with her OH, my friend and I and another one person who also got a beanie and a t-shirt. My friend even asked to exchange his for a large and got the same t-shirt Scott Pilgrim wore in the first half of the film (the yellow one with red collar)! However when I got my beanie & t-shirt, the guy said that was the very last one!!! So I wonder where the other 5 went!

At Wandsworth they only had 9 T-Shirts and about six hats so you were out of luck if you were any further back - luckily I always get there early and we managed to bag 2 of each so the kids were pleased - my daughter got the yellow T-shirt and my son the green one (even better no arguing over which belongs to which). The grey beanie is quite small and my daugher would have preferred it to be oversized so it would go over her hair when it is up but beggars can't be choosers and it was a nice freebie and totally unexpected.

I went to Shaftsbury Ave last night too, I don't know what anyone looks like though but am sure I'll eventually start to realise there are familiar faces! Really liked the film, had seen the trailer so knew what to expect but I thought maybe it wouldn't come off as a whole film or would have clunky bits. However I was wrong, as people have said it was inventive but to me it wasn't at the expense of the film in a 'look at us being inventive, we don't care about narrative, here's more random things' way, I found it really cohesive and exciting, definitely unlike anything else I've seen (I didn't see Kickass) . I like Michael Cera, his timing is excellent and thought Keiran Culkin was very good. Would definitely like to give it a second viewing and see if I still feel the same, but was very impressed.

Didn't realise there was an Edgar Wright event at the South Bank after, that sounded like a good evening.

Saw this at Shaftesbury last night and really enjoyed it. Whether its the computer game playing, comic booking reading kid coming out of me or the fact that I just think generally it's a good film I'm not sure, but I did think it was good. The casting of the lead roles was very good, Cera put in another good performance and Mary Winstead was great as well. The visual effects were also pretty top notch and really added something to the film as a whole.

As a few people have said however, I'm not sure how many times I would want to watch this again, and so I'm marking it down for that, but only time will tell I guess!

Saw this last night at Bolton and it was pretty full, no free gifts there. Thought it was a bit bizzare to be honest. The kids loved it though. I wouldn't want to sit though it again. Only a 5/10 from me.

I really enjoyed this, laughed all the way through, loved the special effects, the soundtrack (a Black Flag song, yes!), and the cast was pretty good too.

Beneath all that flashy computer game surface, I thought it was a neat depiction of the upps and downs of young adult relationships, with a decent message of fighting for the girl but also maintaining self-respect... some great subtle nods (Seinfeld) and digs (bands eager to sell out, etc), and great one-liners, will have to watch this again I think.

Managed to nab a t-shirt but it's a Primark quality very thin cheapo shirt that probably won't last long... if you didn't get one, you didn't miss out really.

If we are looking at it from an angle of the "loser" guy trying to get his girl, I much prefer Michael Cera's "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist"

We went to see this at Liverpool Cineworld last night- no freebies here either. Cinema was approx 80% full. I thought the film was a bit strange to say the least, although I love Michael Cera and thought he carried off the part of Scott Pilgrim really well. The film also had some funny one-liners that had most of the audience laughing at times. I found some of the fight sequences a bit boring and 'samey' though. My 16yr old son loved it, he thought it was one of the best films he's seen for a while. He gave the film 8/10, whilst my score would be 5/10.

I saw this at West India Quays and it was nearly 100% full and as a_person said I did get a T-Shirt and a hat ;o)
Ok the movie, ermmm, im a bit confused as to whether I actually liked it or not….it was interesting, quirky and different and had some funny lines but I was getting annoyed towards the end and just wanted it to finish. I think it was a good movie but it could have been a lot better and fell short for me. 7/10

neon lit party flick that never really eased up. pretty much a paradigm of post teen life today (or perhaps, in the Norties, at least). I sat through it initially looking for the weak points, and there were some ... but fifteen minutes in i gave up on that and just enjoyed the stream of gameplay. Visual effects to the max, often in your face, but to be forgiven seeing as its based on a comic book. On that matter, tis the best comic book adaptation I've seen.

Oh yeah - the weaknesses - overfocus on the chinese girl being a wierd dippo (its always chinese girls! very unfair). still , it was a comic adaptation, so it was bound to be partly puerile. Also, some one liners and visual gags were used a bit too 'generously'.

As an intelligent film its not 10/10, not even close. However, as a concept film and sheer offbeat entertainment value, 10/10!
