Just had a most enjoyable evening. Finally got round to having the £16 for four courses plus entertainment citydeal at Brickhouse in Brick Lane, before it expired! The food was divine especially the dessert where I wanted to lick the plate! The entertainment was very cheesy burlesque, striptease but very fun. They even had something for the ladies, so we were told, until a very puny man came out - which made me laugh, but he was amazing with his hula hoops! Lots of audience participation, and as my OH and I was sitting right at the front table, was asked if we were on a date? I had to laugh, if he only knew, and wished I was quick enough to quip "Yes, hot date!".

Well, he did it! My son got into Uni! I am so proud - it has been a rollercoaster year, to say the least! The tutor let downs, change of teachers, the indecisions, the stress, the doubts, the failures, you name it we have had it! So we are all absolutely thrilled. o/

Thanks beate - you are too kind! I am lucky to be alive with all the issues my son has had - so I am doubly proud and we are so over the moon! Actually, words cannot described how I am feeling, choked, happy, elated, I don't know, such a mixture of emotions!

Well that's great news about your son, prettyxcool--congratulations to everyone! I remember the feeling as for the last 6 years we've been waiting for exam results for our daughter and son (GCSE, AS level and then A levels) and waiting and getting the A level results and uni places were always nerve filled days. So really well done and all the best.

Couldn't agree more with Beate -- am amazed you have a son this old -- I thought you were in your 20s! Enjoy a very happy celebration.

Congratulations for your son. Which Uni is he going to and to study what?

Luckily I have a couple more years before all of that but my son takes his GCSEs next summer and then as there is only one academic year between my son and daughter it is pretty full on for quite a few years!

Anyway, hope your son celebrates in style!
