Don't the ticket prices go up to £85? Maybe they get a special free ride/access all areas wristband

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Are those the so-called VIP tickets? I thought those people just had better access to cleaner toilets and a free locker. But maybe they do get the rides thrown in too. However I wouldn't be surprised if they have to p*y for the rides too - some of those fairground operators are rip off merchants - they were trying to charge £5/6 per ride for another event I went to in the park. Think they forgot where they were and what they had on offer - not exactly Alton Towers.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
My bf fell ill yesterday, so I had to look at the last minute for a friend to go with me to the LED festival. Unfortunately, the tickets were in my bf's name. It was so funny when I handed over my bf's passport at the box office. The girl was really surprised, but decided to give me 2 tickets anyway.
We arrived only in the evening at the festival, and left at 10pm because my friend was freezing. So we ended up seeing only Goldfrapp (which I quite liked) and what I presume was Leftfield. We stayed away from the other stage/tent, since we really disliked the music. I have to admit that I find it weird to just watch some guy selecting music on his PC.
I was amazed at how many people were smoking drugs, inspite of the fact that there was police at the entrance with a sniffer dog.

Goldfrapp? Leftfield? wow
maybe the mistake was in the marketing. Why call it an 'LED' festival. LEDs are something wholly boring that are part of the dull as dishwater physics gcse.

Sure, I enjoyed myself. First time I've seen a sniffer dog and lots of police at a gig/festival. Oh, and one girl was caught with drugs at the entrance.superhero wrote:I guess thats festivals for you, they come with a "certain" reputation, but I am assuming you still enjoyed yourself?

Vicky Park falls within Hackney and Bow, both areas which are known highly for drugs. I'm not suprised at Police being there. Bow generally has community safety officers patrolling the area to avoid anti-social behaviour and crime. Has worked wonders (most of the time) there.ucakpam wrote:Sure, I enjoyed myself. I lived in Bow for 9 months, a_person. We weren't aware of how shady the area is, when we moved there. During the first month I was always worried that I might get mugged, then I got used to it. Needless to say, as soon as we managed to get out of the rental contract, we moved to another area.a_person wrote:Vicky Park falls within Hackney and Bow, both areas which are known highly for drugs.
