Re: The Switch
What a load of rubbish.........Anniston is not a patch on Barrymore in 'Going the Distance' and consequently, I really do not think it the best Romcom of the Summer!!!
A mere 3/10

Thought this film was nothing special and a bit pointless.

Re: The Switch
I enjoyed this. Wasn't sure if Jenifer's acting would be any good but i think she did quite well, better than what i have seen from her before anyhow.
The little boy was very cute and believable and i liked the fact that it is quite a simple film, as i think that they are needed every now and then.
Couldn't quite believe how noisy the audience seemed to be at Birmingham though, which ruined it a bit for me. There's nothing more i hate than having to listen to people's conversations or the constant rustling of sweet wrappers, with no attempt to be a tiny bit quiet, i mean why bother going to the cinema at all if your going to talk throughout the film.
Overall i give it a 7.5/10

Re: The Switch
Saw this a couple of days after Going The Distance and I have to say I preferred the Drew Barrymore film loads more. The premise of The switch had lots of promise, but I don't think it could figure out whether to be a comedy or a drama. There were too many flippant bits to be a drama, but it just wasn't funny enough to be a comedy. I thought there could have been a lot more humour from the switching scene, and more could have been done with the similarities between father and son.
Jason Bateman's character wasn't as neurotic as all that, and Jennifer Aniston's character was frankly dull. She just didn't shine in this film at all.
I guess I'm disappinted because I thought this would be better.
There's still no movie sperm funnier than There's Something About Mary
i'd say 6/10

Re: The Switch
Saw this today and I was a bit worried as other people have said it was disappointing and not that funny. I actually enjoyed it and did find it pretty funny. It's not the funniest film I've seen this year but I would class it as a comedy. Not that much romance. I thought Wally was the best, funniest character and Jennifer Aniston was ok. The little boy was cute and a good little actor. I also thought the story was pretty good.

Re: The Switch
Saw this yesterday morning. Didn't think it was too bad. Not ground-breaking but often very funny. Jennifer Aniston was passable enough but I thought Jason Bateman was excellent, bringing a decent amount of depth to what could have been a fairly one note role. His relationship with his son was very touching and made the movie.

Re: The Switch
Going to see this tonight at Didsbury, as I've had a lovely day at work I think I'll enjoy anything tonight
My friend watched it at Lancaster 2 weeks ago her 3rd free film in 3 years (only 6 people in the cinema) and really enjoyed it, I think as I get to see so many I maybe a little more critical. Will feed back later.
