Re: The Town
I logged in as her when it showed the tickets were available and got "sorry all tickets redeemed for this location." I was on my iphone though so went and got my laptop to check what's going on. Only to come back and completely all sold out so am glad bevvy managed to get her some instead.

Re: The Town
I think I am sticking with the Town on Monday, it's more convenient location and going to watch a ballet on a cinema screen or a TV show on a cinema screen isn't my top preference

Well as long as I'm not working Sunday, I'll go Sunday and finally find out about Beate and her reclining seats that she's always going on about. Although WIQ on Mon is preferred, I cannot guarantee I will leave work on time.

Re: The Town
I would like to but I'd have to finish at 6pm the latest and hope it's not my late night to work. Sad thing is I don't find out until Friday. This makes it so much harder for me to offer tickets up.

Re: The Town
So we get to the PH Greenwich nice and early because we don't have to go far, which is just as well because upon coming closer I start rummaging in my bag for the ticket printout only to discover I left it at home! So had to race back, had to wait 7 minutes for the next DLR, got home, printout wasn't where I thought it was but I found it eventually and raced back. Thankfully a_person had kept us seats but she was in a tizz for another reason as she had thought it started at 10.30am. Meanwhile OH had got the till girl all confused because he told her he hadn't got the tickets so she said, no problem, it's on the computer. But he gave her his name and said Winter's Bone (which was last week) and the tickets weren't in his name anyway, so the poor girl got all confused until I raced in with the right tickets. And in all the excitement I had forgotten to keep seats for bevvy who came in a bit late. A very kind couple gave up their seats for her and OH when they saw his wheelchair - it makes it difficult to get to a lot of seats! It was a good turnout with some latecomers, we got three trailers beforehand (the one for "Red" looked good - no one plays creepy as well as John Malkovich).
Anyway, film was decent enough, nice to see him do the right thing in the end, although he will still remain a criminal. Those nun face masks were kinda creepy! Did the Affleck brothers grow up in Boston or something? Cos a lot of their films (Good Will Hunting, Gone Baby Gone) seem to be set there.
7.5/10

Re: The Town
close enough Beate, they grew up in Cambridge :)
I liked the film, even if there was a bit too much action for me for a Sunday screening; and Ben Affleck's body... yummy!
7.5/10 for me as well

Re: The Town
No, the Afflecks grew up nearby, but Boston seems to have a lot more backdrops than their town.
I got to the Ritzy early (Nice place) and sat down, waited until 11:15 for the film to start, no trailers for entertaining us, lucky I had some games on my iPod.
I loved Gone Baby Gone and I'm a huge Affleck senior fan, and junior, but that's not the point. The film was well made, acted and written, Jon Hamm could just do about anything and look cool, they could remake A Serbian Film with him in the lead and he'd still be awesome. I thought a few scenes required subtitles, the heavier accents and hushed tones didn't mesh well, particularly with Chris Cooper and some Affleck Renner scenes.
The tone never sat right either. We start with a glossy heist, spend an hour in a drama, to come out with another action piece, more drama, action then a wrap up drama, they never really meshed as well as they should have, which is a shame. But it doesn't stop the film too much from being entertaining, interesting and well done, it's not an Oscar film like some reviewers on other sites claimed, especially since the script has some plots just mentioned, then disappear completely, but it's a nice action drama proving that Ben Affleck is a ridiculously talented guy, haters be damned.
