Re: Made in Dagenham
Saw this at Omni Edinburgh this evening (gee the seats are uncomfy in there and the lady behind kicked my chair repeatedly throughout; not deliberately I think?!?).
It was about 70% full and of those at least 60% were 50+ I'd guess. I see it was a Guardian screening, maybe there are lots of older Guardian readers in Edinburgh rather than the uusal student and younger demographic - just seemed slightly unusual to me but perhaps I'm reading too much into things that aren't there in the first place!
So, to the film. I was expecting a wonder film after all your reviews last week and it wasn't happening for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it and it was well acted but I did feel there were a few issues. Rosamund Pike was underused. The first sector was too drawn out and the result was too short and seemed hurried like they'd cut great chunks out to get the time down to something sensible.
Two people walkked out at 7.45 - seemed a bit odd.
A credible British film, well acted. 7/10 from me,

Re: Made in Dagenham
Saw this at Liverpool 1 Odeon tonight, sadly however, the screening was less than 50% full. The film was excellent though and the audience were very receptive to the film. I took along 3 work colleagues who also really enjoyed the film, although one of them quickly commented on the similarity of the story set-up to that of Calendar Girls. That apart, the film kept us interested right to the end. Nice to see some familiar faces too, both from film and tv roles. In addition, I thought the inclusion of cameo appearances from the original Dagenham girls was a lovely touch, as were the snippets of original newsreel footage. This is
definitely one film that we will be talking about in work tomorrow. Good film, great subject. 9/10 from us.

Go Girls!
A good British no nonsense film.
Some sharp intakes of breath when the boss husband had his wife serving up the dinner for the guest, and other un PC moments throughout.
We're lucky times have changed - well at least not all men are like that anymore...!

Wasn't sure that I'd like this one considering the subject matter but I did, I often prefer a good, gritty, British movie to a formulaic American one. Another solid performance from Sally Hawkins...7/10

Brilliant British film a real nice change from all the rom coms that have been out recently. I thought Sally was excellent once again and Bob Hoskins character was very funny.
Was anyone else in at Sheffield Cineworld? The sound went 'funny' about half way through as though someone had turned a vaccuum cleaner on full belt! It took them about 15 minutes to fix the problem but my ears were hurting by then with the noise. No apology or anything - very poor Cineworld, shame on you, you should look after your (non) p*ying guests better.

I feel really hard done by, as I had a splitting headache, so could not go to this last night. For once the 'oldies' I sent both enjoyed the film. I told them they would.

I also saw the preview yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the film. I think "we want sex" is amusing but could be misleading though i am not particularly keen on made in dagenham. I loved the movie and some of the jokes were hilarious. I would rate it a 8/10. very entertaining!!!

Saw this at West India Quay last night. Really enjoyed this film, made a pleasant change from the dire rom coms of late. Was interesting to see a film about something of such historical importance, and was very well done.

I saw this movie at the Odeon, Covent Garden. I found the film very uplifting and funny as well as a piece of interesting history. The acting was brilliant as well as the soundtrack.
