thats an interesting point about their Che, KK. Guevara himself was just a student when Evita died, and was unlikely to have mooted around her more than any other person in Argentina.

Its funny how figures that have become 'legends' pop up in entirely unrelated stories many years after the time they lived - like character in Robin Hood stories for instance. You can see how characters stories become fused togther in modern day historical storytelling such as in the film Braveheart, and any number of

its a shame. i'd much prefer it if Che was just a common man. it would work better in that it was the common man in Argentina who adored Eva Perona. i guess they are just trying to rope in today's generation, who have seen all the Guevara films of recent. But Che Guevara loved himself too much and was too privelidged in his youth to be the common man. Their shared early deaths seems too weak a link to relate them.

Che as common man/everyman was actually Tim Rice's intention but a theatre producer and director called Harold Prince decided to actually make him Che Guevara. That was back in 1979 so it's been like that since then, it's not just a modern thing. It is unnecessary and quite distracting I think.

I agree. We were all puzzled why the narrator was Che.

I also went to the one hotel room exhibition tonight, umm...if you're near the area by all means have a look, but a hotel room is a hotel room is a hotel room. It's a very very nice one, with lots of natural wood decorations, but it's a small room. What is interesting however is the area around Redchurch Street, especially during this week with fashion week, london design festival. There were a few other exhibitions, displays around which looked extremely hip and funky. Alot of it tonight looked like private events as people were spilling out onto the streets drinking wine, champagne, security at the door.
Then I dashed to north london to see Ricky Warwick in concert. To sum it up, he's like Bruce Springsteen-lite as some people have said. It's really not my cup of tea, but he's obviously very good at what he does. He's about to join Thin lizzy as their lead singer.
The crowd wasn't as active and up for it as his last concert, but thats expected on a late Tuesday night I suppose. It's been a longgg day.

Charity Comedy Festival post specifies tickets are for tonight. This ties in with the venue's website. However SFF states Friday (tomorrow) on their website and the tickets.

I'd call the venue and ask them. Tell them that the tickets are saying valid for Fri even though the email said tonight....

Thanks for posting a_person! Don't think I can make any of the new theatre showings. I am opting for a film tonight and next Tues I think.
