I got free tickets to watch Tommy Steele in Scrooge last year in Manchester thanks to this site, I too thought it was brilliant would love to see it again. 10/10 as wellSimonV wrote:I dont know if anyone else went, but Tommy Steele was brilliant in Scrooge tonight.
I never got chance to see him do this at the Palladium but Im glad I went tonight. Its the best version of Scrooge that Ive ever seen.
Very comical, catchy songs and the magic tricks used to make the ghosts appear and disappear were amazing.

lol. nice to see medical awareness here. also, i'd add that too many bananas can eventually lead to cardiac arrest (due to there high potassium content

I've been checking too. The concert has not sold well (probably because it's not been promoted) so I'm also hoping there might be some tickets offered.raineylb wrote:I'm wondering if there might be some tickets for Mary J. Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Well I've never heard of Mark Thomas before today and his Manifesto, but I certainly wasn't expecting a controversial sunday afternoon show.
No doubt the talking point will be when he made an israeli joke and these 2 israelis stood up in protest and left the auditorium and not without shouting w*nker and anti-semite at Mark. Everyone else in the audience thought their reaction was rather extreme.
Then we had the pro-drugs supporter advocating under 18s should all have experience of drugs in a controlled environment. He kept clicking his fingers at the host when he thought his manifesto point wasn't read out properly.
We also had the late arrivers, Mark was trying to explain to them " have you read the sheet about Manifesto points" to which she replied very quickly yes, I know I am switching off my mobile now! (Now there's a good manifesto point).
If it all sounds very serious, it isn't, Mark makes it very very funny. Clearly he's not the toilet humour type. Highlights included when he talked about his protests at Arms companies and stop and search policies.
It's very tricky to interact with the audience and talk about tricky subjects like politics and religion, but he carries it out with aplomb. 8/10

Onassis
Although this play has had quite a few bad reviews (as a play it is probably not very convincing), we went to see it on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the performance of Robert Lindsey as the Greek tycoon. It gave a glimpse of the mixture of charisma and arrogant attitude of Onassis and his dodgy business tactics. There were also many amusing moments. The set was very stylish and clever, the use of water giving a magical sense of the Mediterranean sea.

Re: Paramore at the o2 13/11
So for a while O2 were sending me practically daily alerts about what bands were coming to the O2 arena, and their other satellite venues, and I was getting a bit overwhelmed, so I removed myself from the mailing lists. Then the universe decided to spite me for doing this, as one of my favourite bands, Paramore, are coming to the O2 and I could have gotten priority tickets (had I been on the damn mailing list!), but now the 13th November is completely sold out, and there are only nosebleed seats left for their other date, the 15th November. I am SO gutted. There are tickets available via ebay, seatwave etc, but people are charging such a lot!
Any other Paramore fans on here? Anyone going on the 13th? Maybe I should just suck it up and fork out for an overpriced ticket! I guess I get enough free stuff via this forum to p*y out once in a while.
