Would also be good if they had the cokes poured out to hand out as they collect tickets but they probably want people to be tempted into b*ying their other food by going to the counter.cardiff2007 wrote:The best thing they could do would be to stamp the ticket to show that you have had your drinks it will be a bit of a faff otherwise

Just a guess but I reckon Mamma Mia must be the cheapest film to put on in the UK today...

You don't have to cut it out, they just cross out the voucher and you keep the whole page with the ticket... I thought it would be a little can of coke but they gave us those huge cups filled to the top, couldn't drink it all..elski wrote:did anyone go to see pretty woman then? what happened with the vouchers for cokes?

Re: Diet Coke Feel Good Film Festival
Had to rush from Greenwich Picturehouse to WIQ for Mamma Mia, made it in time and the lovely prettyxcool had kept our favourite seats for us but I needed the loo plus get the free Diet Cokes and some food as I was starving. There was only one counter on the lower level open, with a huge queue, so by the time I had everything, I had missed the first 5 minutes. I was by no means the last one in though, people were streaming in until 1.30pm, all clutching their free Cokes. Really, I don't understand why they can't have more tills open when they know that everyone in that screening will be wanting their free drinks!
Anyway, loved the film as usual. Pierce Brosnan really can't sing but gets points for trying, but the others are all very good, and you can just feel what a blast they had shooting this movie. It's so much fun, with some of the numbers wildly over the top and riproaringly funny, but when Meryl Streep sings "Winnter Takes It All", I got goosepimples all over again. When a top actress who can sing pours all her emotions into that song, it doesn't leave the eyes dry. Fabulous. Julie Walters is so funny, and you have to stay to the end just to see Colin Firth in an Abba costume, ha ha.
Thank you for the music! 9/10

Re: Diet Coke Feel Good Film Festival
Yes I saw Pretty Woman last week it’s still as good as when I first saw it way back in the day. Gosh those free diet cokes are so HUGE, I’m sure the entire cinema made toilet visits at some point during the film.
Saw Momma Mia today, this was the first time I’d seen it on the big screen and it was much better than when I saw it on a flight. Think I only managed a quarter of my drink this time before I got bored of it.
So now I have a dilemma/possible mad dash next week. I have tickets for Unstoppable at the Showcase – the edge of town - which starts at 11:00; the film is about 100 mins, so that will make it 12:40 and that’s if it starts on time. Then I’ve also got tickets for the Hangover at Cineworld – centre of town - which starts at 13:00. To be fair I’ve seen The Hangover before but it’s so funny I wouldn’t mind seeing it again.
Will just have to see on the day.

Re: Diet Coke Feel Good Film Festival
Lovely to see you Beate, and glad to be able to save you seats as very touch and go whether I would even get there at all, but we did about 12:50pm and luckily the cinema was still pretty empty! Everyone was queuing for their free drinks presumably!
Saw Mama Mia for the first time too! Only seen clips before, so lovely to see the entire film on the big screen! Loved it, loved it. Bless Pierce Brosnan for trying, he seemed embarrassed at the beginning but then seems to get into the swing of things, real feel good film, loved those Abba numbers, and everyone seemed to have had a blast making the film, and finally, was so impressed with Meryl Streep again!
I too have a dilemna next week! Santa Paws in Central London at 11.00am and then have the Hang Over at WIQ at 1.00pm - is this possible, anyone know?

Re: Diet Coke Feel Good Film Festival
Hm. I don't know how long Santa Paws is but probably not longer than 90 mins. Leicester Square to WIQ is 27mins according to TFL, but that's not including the walking time to and from cinemas and stations. So you will most probably be late. If you saw Santa Paws at Odeon Greenwich instead it would take you 11mins on the tube + DLR, not including the bus ride from the cinema to the station so that's probably a bit quicker all in all. Luckily the Jubilee will be fine next Sunday.
