Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Well when they last did it there was a booking fee too until they released they couldn't fill the whole place out.
I haven't received the email yet, I am assuming it's standing isn't it? They will see how the uptake is this week and then send more invites out the following week etc.
I want to go but only if it's assigned seating really. My friends hate standing or queuing early to grab a seat.

superhero, you amaze me! how do you know all this? The ticket type is Free Downstairs or Free Upstairs - so presumably if you choose upstairs you get seating? But I assume as it is not assigned, have to queue early, yeah, I would hate that too!superhero wrote:Well when they last did it there was a booking fee too until they released they couldn't fill the whole place out.

No booking fee but a delivery charge, and no other option for delivery except for this!
Delivery Type:
ticketFast®: NOW (Recommended) (2.25)
The fastest delivery method available, your tickets delivered by
email so that you can print them out yourself!
And this is on the secured payment screen:
A total of £2.25 will be billed to your credit card.
This total includes the ticket price(s), a delivery fee of £2.25,
and a service fee of £0.00.
Well, I think it is shoddy if it is suppose to be a comp win.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Cos they did the same thing in April! and I didn't go then because of a combination of the booking/delivery fee and first come first serve policy. For films it's okay, but for concerts people queue so early and then stand in crowded conditions, not really my thing although I don't mind too much, but my friend would positively hate it... Queuing for hours and then squashed like sardines

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
sounds like more of the same this time...I have sent them an email and told them what I thought!
My theory is they need to have constructive feedback, otherwise they would not know they are not doing it properly, or how we could enjoy the RSVO experience!

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Has anyone actually said anything good about Knapps Last Tape? I haven't applied for any tickets given how people have been reviewing it as quite boring...
Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
These were posted around 18 September when the play started.....moondance wrote:Absolutely agree with all of the above - I couldn't believe the phone either and it was extra wierd as it was the same ring tone as the one they usually use in theatres before the play to remind people to turn off their phones!thedude wrote:Definitely worth it.. so much choice tonight, in the end the Gambon / Beckett combination had to be the winner.kevinknapman wrote: It's got Michael Gambon in it though. That's got to be worth a trip surely.
Krapp’s Last Tape is just under an hour, for me it’s too short, I was just beginning to enjoy it when the curtain came down...
It's a cosy little theatre, but they need to oil those squeaky seats for a quiet play like this.
And I can't understand how people go to the theatre and leave their phones on! Some woman got a call, apologised, then got another call, apologised again, then got a text! Unbelievable.
I didn't say what I thought of the play but I entirely agreed with thedude. It is in the nature of Beckett and may be not as accessible as Waiting for Godot but good all the same..... it depends what you are expecting but I thought it was well worth it.
Preferred cinemas:
Central London and North London as far north as the Hampstead Everyman including Picturehouse Hackney/Notting Hill Gate - but not Wood Green and North Finchley as they are just a bit too far.
