Sitting by the fire now with my glass of red medicine waiting on the Apprentice starting
You sound so cosy and warm inside and out MM. thats the only place i want to be with a nice cup of tea o/
Not started the Christmas shopping yet and too early to write my cards as got to be in the mood!!
I,ve done a lot of shopping but although b*ght cards can't be bothered to write them yet, in fact, can't be bothered doing anything much. Got our first day off work due to the weather but didn't get message until i was up and ready :x got right back into bed then went on the big wellie hunt. My husband got last pair which were luckily his size and promptly jumped into the first pile of snow he seen so delighted was he :p
Buses on the main roads are running okay but it is the side roads that are the worst as nothing has been done about them.
My car is well and truely snowed in  our bins never even got emptied this morning :(

The piles of snow in the supermarket carparks and by the sides of the roads are so huge, wish they'd make igloos out of them :P . There is gonna be tons of water whenthe big melt comes

Local airport now shut until at least 6 am tomorrow; bus company again running no service in Kent, Surrey and Sussex and local station departures show all trains cancelled in every direction. As for weather forecast, sub-zero temps day and night until Saturday...

I was just talking to someone who lives in canterbury, who can see canterbury west station from his window. He can see trains passing through

I think SE Trains are running some, but Southern have said none before 10 am at least.

Edit: train companies also run "ghost" trains to keep tracks clear - I saw one yesterday when there was allegedly no service.

finally got a bit of snow in Hammersmith today so I got out my trusty Yaktrax, and took myself bad back and knee, off to work without a problem o/

I cannot recommend these things enough.

I think the Kent people are still stuck and can't get into London. It's quite white here now and the snow seems to swirl through the air which is all pretty and such but must be cold, wet and dangerous to be out in so I think we should get a petition to make snow prohibited by law as it serves no practical purpose - if you must ski, use an indoor slope, LOL.
