hehe, really! I know what you mean, but I was a plus one and we wanted to catch up, eat our popcorn etc, so it was good.

Was at the 02 - the 3D effects didnt work for me - made the film dark and at times fuzzy - wish I hadnt worn the glasses. Visually very exciting - but storyline was a let down.

2 actors from Tron Legacy have just been on bbc news, said the used the special 3D camera like they did in avatar, expecting good 3D that actually works! :D

Agree with most comments on here, 3D wasn't all that great (sitting at the back at the O2), the score was excellent though, and visually the film is a thing of beauty, but can't help feeling a little flat at the end of it all, I didn't get the WOW feeling I was hoping for all this time. I loved the original Tron, so I really wanted to like this too. Will rewatch on Tuesday anyway... maybe a generous 7/10?

For those of you in London, they're showing the original Tron at the Alibi in Dalston, tonight at 9pm. Never been there so not sure what the screen is like, but they're promising free popcorn...

Surprised no one has mentioned the cameo yet. Shame they didn't/couldn't use him more in this.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

Quite easily one of the biggest movie disappointments of 2010. I've been looking forward to seeing this for a while now. Admittedly it was very impressive visually but the script was terrible and the story almost non-existent.
A poorly written script meant I had no idea what was happening or why for a lot of the film and after a while I found it difficult to care.
The action sequences were suitably exciting (the light cycles and disc battles were definitely highlights) but everything inbetween was surprisingly dull.
The acting was adequate if unspectacular. Jeff Bridges was pretty good given the material he was given but I found his random bursts of dude-speak ("it's bio-digital jazz man", "You're messing with my zen thing") fairly tiresome after a while. I don't recall Kevin Flynn being that much of a hippy in the original and it seemed like Jeff Bridges was just playing a variation of himself. The fact that the character was supposed to be tired and disillusioned with life also meant Bridges didn't have his considerable charm to fall back on. He did have one touching moment when he was reunited with his son but the rest of the movie was emotionally hollow and far less affecting than the film-makers clearly intended.
Michael Sheen's cameo was fun if a little over-the-top and out of place but at least it breathed a little life into the movie for a while.
Another uncredited cameo which I won't spoil (but will hide below if anyone's interested) was surprisingly short considering how well-known the actor is now. Although apparently the director has hinted that if another film is made, this character will feature more. Personally I think he should have featured more in this one.
Cillian Murphy playing the son of the bad guy from the original movie. Another blink and you'll miss it cameo, almost as brief as the one he had in The Dark Knight
I wasn't overly impressed with the 3D either. It seemed pretty flat to me for most of the time. And I kept the glasses off for the real world/2D scenes despite being told to keep them off as it was pretty dark.
The Daft Punk soundtrack was really good though and probably worth getting.
Tron Legacy is just about worth seeing for the visuals and soundtrack. Shame more effort wasn't spent on the script.
