Re: The Diary Room
It's got to have been 90s at the latest it was made. We watched it maybe 7-9 years ago, and I believe it was on BBC One in the early morning.opas wrote:Was it very recent AYBG or was it in the 1990s? Do you roughly remember the year and which channel it used to come on? I wonder if there is an archive of old TV guides somewhere on the net.
RE: NUS card, I don't recommend it myself. Got it in my first year, and got probably a grand total of £2.50 in discounts. Only people who go to SU events get their money's worth, and this year I've found I can get a lot of the non-SU discounts (e.g. free food at McD's) by just saying I'm a student or showing my main student card.

Re: The Diary Room
Thank you both for the feedback on NUS cards. Not sure what to do now; maybe I'll check to see what discounts I could get, then decide. I already do pretty well for free films, obviously, and for discounts when I do have to p*y. I think an NHS card can get you food discounts, too, though I've never tried and I doubt it's the sort of food of which Mr G would approve!

Re: The Diary Room
Thank you, Valda. Probably not the sort of clothes shops I frequent, but then my major expense is walking boots and I get a discount on those already. Now if John Lewis did NUS discount...

Re: The Diary Room
Random question!
Ive been organising some house viewings for me and a few friends for next years study, and i managed to get about 6 houses for tomorrow, I told everyone last week that we had house viewings, to make sure that they could make it. Today I was talking about it all day with one 'friend' and got the times confirmed for the viiewings tomorrow, after texting everyone and saying, the times are confirmed, meet here, at this place etc etc, the one 'friend' said she couldnt make it because she had house viiewings with her fflatmates.
Am I the only one thinking that thats extremely rude? 1- She gone behind our backs 2- She didnt even think to tell us since now our house views tomorrow will be invalid. 3- fter complaining abot not having any house viewings, she didnt make anyy effot whatsoever to help or be involed, she ust expected meto arrange everythng for her.
Am I in the right mind to just throw her out the equation? and just get a 4 room house so she cant come crawling bacck to us? :/
