As Len Goodman said on Strictly - snow is fun to start with but soon you wish it would go away!!!
But.....until it does you might as well play :P

My street is such a mess. Not been gritted at all. The snow is piled about 3 or 4 feet high on the pavements where cars have been dug out. The only way out is on the car tracks which are up and down and covered with ice. One of my neighbours had to go to hospital as she fell!!!

So far lorry stuck for three hours yesterday and gas van still stuck from yesterday morning!!

How long is this going to last?? No bread milk or veg in Tesco or Co-op this morning and no papers. Had to take supplies up to Mum this morning and managd to get the bus at 7.20 so reached work at 10. Will have to make up the time for yesterday as did not get in - no buses So will need to go up to Mum on thursday again if this continues. I need a drink but can't as have to go out and pop in to check someone else is okay. They are 5/10 minutes away but it will take me at least 30 mins to get there :tears: :tears:

take care and stay warm everyone

You seem to be having a really tough time up there in Scotland, mm. I can empathise with you - it's dreadful down here - the A&E departments are working flat out coping with the increased number of broken bones.

Take care when you are out and about.

Poor you guys, I didn't realise how bad it was up there. Here I was feeling mad at the snow and the cold weather but having read your post, I'd rather grateful now.

My car stopped in the middle of a busy road on my way to work on Sunday and I think that's because I didn't leave the engine running for long (because I was running late for work so no time!) and I was really terrified. Reminded me that I better get AA or RAC soon.

Hope things get better for you guys.

Yes you definitely should get some AA or RAC cover, a_person!

Our Office Christmas Party is this Friday, I am hoping the Scottish employees will make it what with the airports being rather iffy right now. They will fly down on Thursday if all goes to plan.

It was a relief to spend the day somewhere snow-free (London). On the train back I noticed that the snow was evident from around Croydon southwards and once I got off, it was back to slithering and skidding home.

Even where it hasn't snowed for days, the effects linger on: last week's Time Out magazine has finally reached me - a day after the new edition was published! (Wonder when that one will arrive?)
