Went to see this film the other day, it was awesome! Effects are amazing, the 3d/2d works really well. Jeff Bridges young and old- really cool to see.

Re: TRON: Legacy
I saw this in 3D today at the Odeon Metrocentre's Mighty IMAX with its 12 Zillion Mega Watts of ear-splitting, bone shaking, yet crystal clear, digital surround sound. Powered by the brightest digitally-projected images on the IMAX's enormously huge curved screen in the custom-designed auditorium, it was absolutely breathtaking. Talk about an immersive experience - It felt like I was actually in the bloomin' film myself.
I understand from what people have said, this film is a follow-on from the original TRON. I've never seen that, but I would say that this film stands up on its own just fine and you don't need to see the earlier one to make sense of what is happening.
The oft-used cliché "visually stunning", doesn't do this film justice, it looks really awesome. The grid, the vehicles and the stylishly dressed lovely ladies really take one's breath away.
On the downside, admittedly the storyline is a little lame, even predictable to an extent, and the character development nothing much to write home about, but who cares? It ain't that sort of a film, just enjoy those loud bangs and the glorious visual effects.
An all action adventure, its like a cross between the Matrix and Star Wars with a bit of Top Gun thrown in there for good measure – although nothing like any of those films.
Cool music from Daft Punk too.
A very enjoyable 8.5 out of 10 from me!
I'd choose TRONing over IRONing anyday misseypootle!!

Re: TRON: Legacy
We I made it through the whole film, without falling asleep LOL. My son enjoyed the high tech stuff and the lights etc but even he was bored from about half way into the film. I must admit the animation was outstanding, but the poor storyline let it down and I didnt really enjoy it. So a poor 4/10 and thats being generous. Maybe I should have stuck to the ironing and let someone else take him?Preston1990 wrote:I saw this in 3D today at the Odeon Metrocentre's Mighty IMAX with its 12 Zillion Mega Watts of ear-splitting, bone shaking, yet crystal clear, digital surround sound. Oh no! - Misseypootle, I hope my review didn't sway you into going to see it, I feel really guilty now.misseypootle wrote: We I made it through the whole film, without falling asleep LOL. Isn't it strange how some people think certain films are really good, whilst other people really don't rate them at all.

I really liked TRON and will definitely be going to see it again.

Any chance that when I do, I could drop a bag of ironing off for you to do for me whilst I go and watch it?
