The reviews for this, at least on IMDB, look very good but The Princess and the Frog was only average in my books, I hope this is much better!

Is it just me being late/blind or did they start the screening at Vue Shepherds Bush early today. It did say a 10:30 start, no? I was there around 10:15-10:20!

Just seen this in Croydon.

I was not expecting much from this film as didn't really like the princess and the frog. However, I enjoyed it. It was heartwarming and funny at times. I can't wait to take my daughter to films like this in a few years time as I'm sure she would like it.

We were at Cineworld Greenwich massively early, around 9.40, as we had planned in some extra time due to replacement busses etc. but all went smoothly. We just followed a mass of people to screen 11 (the big one) but stopped in our tracks when we heard loud music coming from inside and no one wanted to see our tickets. Turned out we very nearly joined the Sunday Church Service! Not quite sure which church uses rock music in the biggest O2 cinema screen but we turned around and fled to the other side where we started the queue for screen 2. They let us in early and it filled up slowly but surely. No one gave us 3D glasses when we came in so I thought it would be 2D - until they realised their mistake and rushed through the aisles to give people 3D glasses. I can soon open a shop with them now. Film started late, at around 10.42am.

Anyway, Tangled was lovely, very funny and although I don't usually like all that singing in Disney films, the "I've got a dream" one in the pub was very entertaining. Loved Pascal the chameleon, Maximus the horse and the frying pan-swinging Rapunzel - you go, girl! Eugene Fitzherbert and his smouldering looks were cute as well.

Just a suggestion though for parents with kids - please do not sit in the back row with them. First, that's where we are sitting, and second, if they need the loo FOUR times during the film, it means you have to walk the entire length of the staircase FOUR times. Very annoying.

8/10 Not bad for the first film of 2011.

Oh I saw some babies being brought in. Not that I necessarily advocate babies in a cinema as it always feels as if people just scrimp on the babysitter while subjecting everyone else to their screams, but there are proper parents and babies screenings in some cinemas at certain times. It's more for the parents though I guess.
