No doesn't have to be posh. I was thinking nice champagne, but he works in senior exec recruitment so gets given champagne all the time. Don't want it to be too much like a gift from a g/f either, e.g. socks, ties, cufflinks. Friendly, but not too intimate!

Just be sure it's an activity day he would really like. Husband got given one and think he would have preferred a token for something he could have chosen. Theatre tokens (if he is that way inclined) are also a possibility.
