The Green Hornet
Some people have compared it to Alec Baldwin's The Shadow, which surely isn't a good sign and Jay Chou is no Bruce Lee or even Stephen Chow (the original choice)

Re: The Green Hornet
I didn't expect much, so it went OK for me. It's a superhero comedy (a bit silly in places) Works out well as weekend entartaiment for 8+ kids ( especially if they are boys). Would make a nice family TV movie. It felt a bit long, considering the trailers and ads were shown in our case for over 30 min. 3D feels natural.
As I said don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
8 out of 10 for us just because I can see my child asking to 1. see it again, 2. to b*y a DVD and 3. an X-box 360 game (if it exists... hope not!)

Re: The Green Hornet
Something really weird happened to me today!!
I was struggling to use up some Cineworld competition win codes before their expiry date. However, there weren't many films that they were valid for, that I hadn't already seen. In the end I decided to book a ticket for The Black Swan again. I'd already seen it a week or so ago and thought it was pretty good.
I'd just taken my seat in the screening room when I noticed that some of the pre-film trailers looked a little blurry. That's strange I though, and looked around to see what other people's reaction was. You won't believe this, but everyone apart from me was wearing 3D glasses.
Fortunately I just happened to have a set with me, so I put them on. I was a little mystified though as I couldn't recall The Black Swan being in 3D last time I saw it. You'll never guess, but when the film started it was actually not the Black Swan at all it was The Green Hornet 3D. How weird was that!
Of course I realised my mistake straight away - I must have misread my ticket and gone into the wrong screen. Easily done I guess, but not so easily remedied without having to push my way out along rows of seated customers. I decide the most responsible thing to do was not to inconvenience others and just stay put. So in a selfless act, that's what I did.
Actually I really liked the Green Hornet. It's an enjoyable fast paced comedy action thriller. The main stars are the cars and cool gadgets (especially that "to die for" cappuccino machine) but there is a surprisingly engaging storyline too. Seth Rogen was very entertaining as The Green Hornet. There was some hilarious interaction between him and Jay Chou as Kato. Parts were very reminiscent of Peter Sellers and the Chinese/Japanese sidekick in the Pink Panther series. Come to think of it wasn't he called Kato too? (I wonder if that's where they got the idea from). Cameron Diaz was spot on. An amusingly memorable performance too from Christoph Waltz (Colonel Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds). I loved the old vs. new gangland bosses attempted overthrow scene.
I've seen some pretty scathing reviews of this film, but I thought it was quite good.
7.5 out of 10 from me for the Green Hornet - but I must remember to rebook The Black Swan again for later this week - just hope I actually get to see it next time and don't wander into ....oh I don't know ...let's say off the top of my head, Sanctum 3D.

Re: The Green Hornet
That's weird Preston, exact same thing happened to me... what with remembering to hide my outside snacks and drinks, and what time the film starts etc, it's so easy to get all muddled up and walk into the wrong auditorium. Oh well, Green Hornet was on my list, so a lucky accident, right!?
Anyway, enjoyable nonsense really, the "Hornet" is kind of like Batman's thick cousin who happens to inherit a lot of money and also wants to go fight crime, with the help from Cato (definitely a little homage to Pink Panther movies).
The insecure bad guy Christoph Waltz is the highlight for me, as well as the muscle cars obviously, and I liked James Franco's cameo as "Crystal Clear". The 3D wasn't up to much and the plot is all recycled stuff, but I can think of worse ways to spend a couple of hours...

Good for you, Preston, good for you. I once b*ght a ticket for The Hole 3D and "accidentally" walked into Buried. Turned out to be a worthy change.

Then again, if it had been Airbender, I may not have found myself there in the first place!
