I found this disappointing as well, I love Clint but he's getting rather grim in his old age... I guess he's earned the right to film whatever the heck he wants, and maybe when you get to 80 you ponder the afterlife a little more...

The script was just too weak, it might have worked better as a 3 part drama or something. Living in London, the only emotional hit for me was the scene on the tube but otherwise I hate to say it, I was bored. Recognising various locations around London (and SF) helped pass the time. And the high point... a very minor appearance by the guy from Horrible Histories, I nearly burst out laughing.

So about 5 or 6 is all I can give it. As good as he is at directing, I think most fans would just like to see Clint back on the screen!

Went to see this last night. As we approached the cinema saw the car park was very full, lots of people queueing for tickets ( good signs for a saturday night) Only 7 films to choose from, and we chose this one ... Why oh why? I asked myself, and looking at the reactions of the (less than 20) others cinema goers who had opted for this film, they were of similiar thought.

Going by the trailer, it looked gripping and thought-provoking. Yes, the cinematography was good, the music was good and suited the mood of the film, but at 129 mins this film was far too long and in places dis-jointed. There were lots of not properly explained scenes, and I found some of the Social Services scenes unbelievable. Why not alert the police? He's only a young boy.

I was bored most of the time, so much so I found myself pondering on the shape of Matt Damon's nose, at side view it looks quite bulbous. Something I hadn't noticed before and I found it quite unattractive. l've always liked Matt Damon and never noticed it before.

I agree with the reviews here. The first 15 minutes a very promising but the film does not deliver and it drags in many places. Lots of missed opportunities to develop the story given the subject matter. It was nice to recognise some parts of London though, specially The Mayfair Hotel where we have had the last few Telegraph screenings!

Only the 3rd film I've ever walked out of.

An excellent, gripping opening made me settle into my seat ready to be entertained.

Fast forward.....head drooping, eat some popcorn, have a drink to refresh me.

No use, I'm fighting a losing battle.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

More pop, more popcorn.

Hang on in there, it might improve.

No. Can't take anymore.

Admit defeat.

To be fair, there were some interesting bits & some good acting. However, it all seemed to drag on & on. Sadly too, the acting of the drug affected british section left a lot to be desired.

Maybe the remainder of the film was an improvement but judging from the other reviews, I doubt it.

All in all, I was quite disappointed with the majority of what I saw.
