I also saw this at Hatfield and by 10.50 there was no seats left yet they kept letting people in! The cinema attendants kept telling each other it was full yet more and more people strolled in to the screen without being told it was full. I heard mums arguing at the back about this and trying to get comp tickets, and it looked like cgdesign above got lucky! Some people just turned and left. This seems like an inconsistent policy. If a screening is full, then it is full - this creates situations where people will deliberately arrive just before the start time in the hope of a screening being packed so they can get comp tickets to see any film they choose. :nono:

Despite the arguing at the back of the cinema which delayed the start time, I was disappointed by this film. I thought the 3D was pretty pointless - I don't like having to wear the goggles and the 3D here was so underused that it added nothing to the experience. Some of the famous voices added nothing to the characters. Jokes were few and far between, and most of them were aimed to adults. 4/10 from me.

Loads of people turned away at Mansfield but the Odeon staff were very organised and asked people as they were going in not to leave spaces as they sat down so people could find seats quickly as the tickets had been over subscribed...very impressed with how they handled it even though quite a few families were turned away.

Both me and my fourteen year old both enjoyed the film but I still had to explain why I was laughing at the house numbers at the beginning (2b or not 2b) I was still telling her on the way home.....penny dropped after 10 miles on the M1.

Plenty of space left in the Metrocentre Odeon for the Gnomeo & Juliet 3D screening this morning.

In the main, as you would expect, the audience was made up of loads and loads of tiny cute little kids and their parents all enjoying the film. With this in mind it was probably just as well then that the ending had been changed from the original storyline. Although my own daughter felt that this detracted somewhat from the story's overall charm. "It was supposed to be a tragedy! What was the point in changing it to give it a happy ending........it added nothing"

Ahh, the heartlessness of youth!

I smiled inwardly, imagining the reaction of all the tiny cute kids if Gnomeo and Juliet had both committed suicide at the end.

I hadn't really read very much about the film beforehand so it came as a bit of a surprise to see Reginald Dwight had had a large involvement in it. The soundtrack was a bit of a giveaway though, with classics such as Crocodile Rock, Saturday, et all.

There are a lot of really well known people's voices in the film. It was good fun checking the end credits to see if your guesses as to who was playing who were correct. Pretty obviously it's a film primarily aimed at kids, but it does try to keep the adults entertained as well with some over the kid's heads jokes and one-liners. I was quite happy watching it and thought it was fairly entertaining and a good effort for what it was. Extra marks for not being too long either.

I did think that the 3D was disappointing in this though. It was really badly underused and therefore rendered largely redundant. It was hardly worth donning the glasses.

6.5 out of 10 from me for this. I'm sure if you are a tiny cute kid, you'd probably rate it much higher.

Went to see this today at Manchester Trafford, we got there about 10:40 (start time 11:00) and made to queue with around 50+ other people waiting to go in. Only to be told 10mins later the film was full, it was first come first served so tough luck. A lot of very unhappy people and crying children, most people just left. I complained strongly and managed to get us to be allowed to go and watch something else, along with the group of people standing around me whilst arguing the point. They would have been better saying to everybody at the start they could go and see something else, as they lost a fortune on all the refunds they had to give for drinks and popcorn people had already b*ght.

i saw this at kingston and it was packed. I too agree that the 3d was very underused on this film. In all it was enjoyable my 4 and 9 yr old boys liked it no so much the love story as that was "yucky" according to them lmao
but i now have this longing for a flamingo ornament for my garden and will be perusing ebay before they sell out!!!

The turn out for all the films I have been to this year have all been really, really busy, over allocating slightly is one thing, but I think they could of filled the screen twice at Hatfield today and thats really not on. Also people are arriving earlier and earlier. I always make sure that I arrive 30 mins before as requested, but doing so at the last 3 films has meant I have joined on the end of a very long queue each time.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Went and saw this at a packed out Southampton Odeon, very well organised,so well done the staff. The film itself, the whole family loved, great story line and a few laughs to keep us adults entertained. All the kids in the cinema were well behaved which is a good sign they are enjoying the film. Definitely a great family film for half term. o/ :D o/

Was at the Odeon in Braehead Glasgow, cinema was full some people got turned away unfortunately, now to the film my son who is 12 loved it he rated it 9/10 my OH gave it a measly 6/10 as he says he's seen better... Myself i give it a respectable 8/10 1 point knocked of for changing the ending LOL i was quite keen to hear the scream of those cute little kidz in the row in front of me with a bad dose of wind eugghhhh!! another point gone for the absolute lack of 3D used which disappointed me as i loved the use of 3D in Tangled like preston diddnt realy see the need for glasses with this one :( thought the music was fab throughout, all round entertaining enough for the adults to sit back and enjoy and all the kids at our screaning certainly approved this one worth a watch :D

P.s its my score that counts ;) 8/10

Turned away at the Tunbridge Wells Odeon, was informed by the Manager that the screening was full and that there must be about 150 tickets given out for ever 100 seats! very disappointed especially as we had travelled 18 miles to get there! Granddaughter left feeling very sad but other children outside were crying as their parents tried to explain why they could not see the film.
I can understand why extra tickets are given out especially when some screenings are only half full, however ticket distribution for children's screenings should be different as the screenings tend to be full most if not all of the time.

We were turned away at Braehead. Cinema staff were fine, offered Tangled 2D to which most people went into and we got free tickets for Gullivers Travels as we'd seen Tangled. Quite disappointed that it was oversold, usually the Sunday screenings are 90% full. DD really wanted to see this :(
