Funny Gael Garcia Bernal doing such a commercial film, this must be his most commercial film to date

Watched this today, a lovely film about a young woman who found out that she had cancer and falls in love with her Doctor. It is descibed as a romantic comedy but I was a wreck by the end the tears were flowing freely and I wasn't the only one.

The trailer is so amazing in being one of, if not the worst, trailer I've witnessed, technically.

Quite an entertaining little film. It's a funny yet sad comedy. Poignant too, with it's underlying message about being nice to people and making the most of life whilst you still have it. The celebratory ending felt a little too contrived and cliched in my book though.

7.5 out of 10

very touching film. its better if you dont know the plot beforehand (i didnt) so that the film feels less contrived...for me it was a shock to learn the cancer was grade 3 (ie little chance of recovery). This reminded me of Philadelpia, with her appearance gradually going down hill like Tom Hanks's did in that movie.

medical note from a med student - i was suprised that Doctor Garcia didnt ask for about family history of cancer..ah, of course... hes not a real doctor!

medical note 2 - if she'd had a labrador retreiver dog instead of that fat cat of a canine, then she might not have died.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I didn't know the plot either as I was supposed to be watching Gnomeo and Juliet hence I hadn't any tissues at the ready!

Medical advice please raj101, why don't real Doctors look like Doctor Garcia? Would make us all feel better and as I have 2 cats and no labrador will I live forever.
