Gnomeo & Juliet
Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
Already had a response from Showfilmfirst offering me just the two free tickets, Ive replied asking for four. I also emailed Odeon as well, in the past they've been good after the event if there has been a problem, so it's well worth everyone complaining.
I didn't even go, I got the tickets for a friend and their kids and actually feel even worse than if I'd been turned away.

Couldn't have said it better myself, although I was at Kingston. Poor use of 3D, weak use of star studded cast.ramper77 wrote:Saw this in a 60% full Bristol screening. It may appeal to younger children, but I personally struggled with it. The 3D aspect was poor, and it has none of the charm and imagination of 'Tangled'....4/10.

Saw this at the Odeon, Metro Centre. Some good bits, but mostly ok. The kids seemed to love it which is the main thing (and they enjoyed all the running around beforehand). Do cinemas charge more for 3D films? I just wondered 'cos I can't see any other reason for this one being in 3D.

Yes they charge at least another £2.50 on top of the regular ticket price making 3D films about £11-£13.

Maybe I'm being cynical but it seems to me that's the only reason it's used in this film.hdaniel82 wrote:Yes they charge at least another £2.50 on top of the regular ticket price making 3D films about £11-£13.

Agreed. I thought the use of 3D was very poor. I mean compare it to Avatar or Despicable Me?! So worth it for those.briar29 wrote:Maybe I'm being cynical but it seems to me that's the only reason it's used in this film.hdaniel82 wrote:Yes they charge at least another £2.50 on top of the regular ticket price making 3D films about £11-£13.

Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
I enjoyed this film - was nice to be put into a decent screen for once. I agree that the 3D was wasted - almost pointless. It is such a shame that they don't use 3D to it's full potential. I do not p*y for 3D films because most of them won't be worth it. If I knew 3D films had very good 3D, I would be much more likely to go to the cinema and p*y to see the film.
I am a fan of Elton John, so I enjoyed all of the songs, and I felt they suited the film pretty well. The story was so so, the cast were a lot better than the story and so it was a tiny bit of a let down. I enjoyed the little touches (such as the banana on the back of the laptop - that made me chuckle.) and thought that it was a nice gentle film. Great for a Sunday morning, but this one is definitely more for the kids than the adults.
7/10 from me.

Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
do show film first give you free tickets if there are no seats left at the screening?
Really need to join the Free Film's club this year! Always forget

Well apparently, yes - if you can get a reply from them. But not only do I never receive one; no-one here has replied to my post asking how they manage this! Must be super-secret...spyzapper25 wrote:do show film first give you free tickets if there are no seats left at the screening?

I've never had a reply from them but the odeon and cineworld has given me free tickets in the past when this has happened.Ms Thrifty wrote:Well apparently, yes - if you can get a reply from them.
