Re: Chalet Girl
Well was I lucky to get in to this screening in Edinburgh!!!
Have not been well for past two weeks with bad cold that I got first day at new job. Turns out ticket I took was yesterday's sky ticket altho I did have a River Island Ticket. Have been feeling poorly just wanted to go to pics. Kind lady at Wester Hailes looked at me as if I was mad, but let me in, i just thought she was confused
Loved the film, really enjoyed it,would quite happily watch it again tomorrow if I had a ticket!! Makes me wish I was younger and could try snowboarding but better not.
Great cast, lots of laughs and just the tonic I needed.
9/10 from us

Re: Chalet Girl
Got to Odeon Whiteleys at 10:00 for the '10:30 prompt start'! But the cinema shutters only opened at 10:30 and the film didn't start until 11:00 even though nobody else arrived late. The cinema was almost empty. Good job really as there was no incline so if someone had been in front of me - forget it.
I enjoyed the film, but was surprised to see some 10/10 ratings on the forum. It was pleasantly funny but not rip-roaring, and I was bored by the snowboarding bits (there were quite a lot of those bits).
I don't know what happened at the end because after about an hour and twenty minutes the film was switched off, the lights came up and there was an announcement that the cinema was being evacuated. We all left down a corridor which took us outside. We had no idea if or when the cinema might reopen as the shutters were brought down and no staff were visible. So we left, as we were already running late for our lunch appointment. The most annoying thing about it is that if the film had started when it was supposed to, we wouldn't have been affected by the evacuation.
I'll give the film 6/10 for what I saw. Hmm...I wonder if she won the contest, and I wonder what happened between her and the posh fella.

Re: Chalet Girl
It's not like the ending wasn't predictable, LOL, but it's nevertheless annoying that you had to evacuate. I would complain to the cinema about the late starting time and the non-explained evacuation.

I thought this one was an easy watch, but totally forgetable. Bill Nighy was definitely underused. Bill Bailey frying the aubergine was brilliant and he was a definite highlight. I was definitely surprised how many sexual references there were in this. I bet the woman how turned up after the film began with a half dozen rugrats off all ages was surprised too. No way should kids that young have been there. Anyway, it certainly looks like the cast had fun making this one and I do wish I could be pa*d to play in the snow too.
7/10
I know some of you are surprised that I gave it a 10!

Don't worry prettyxcool - you shouldn't have to justify your 10 scores! Glad you enjoyed it!
