Rosenblatt Recitals - Bogdan Mihai
Synopsis
“For such a young singer, Bogdan Mihai’s Goffredo (in Garsington’s Armida) had vocal authority and physical presence. Nice richness to his voice which will serve him well…”
Opera Today
Bogdan Mihai began his musical career studying as a baritone at the University of Music in Bucharest, but whilst studying in Italy with soprano Mirella Freni, he decided to sing as a tenor. He has subsequently appeared with great success as Leicester in Maria Stuarda and Roberto in Roberto Devereux, both by Donizetti.
He recently sang at the Bucharest National Opera House in the roles of Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola by Rossini, and also Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale.
He triumphed as Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at both the Stuttgart Staatsoper and Dresden Semperoper and received extraordinary reviews in the international press singing the role of the Italian tenor in the premiere of Der Rosenkavalier

Russian Maslenitsa in London
Russian Maslenitsa in London
Sunday 6th March 12:30 - 7:00 pm
Maslenitsa is the Russian Sun Festival - a celebration of the end of winter chills and the start of Spring, of warmth, of hope, of growth. Not surprisingly, it is a particularly big deal in Russia!
Trafalgar Square will be transformed into a bustling bazaar exhibiting and selling original Russian Art, handicrafts and souvenirs, ranging from the traditional to the contemporary.
No celebration would be complete without music and the richness and diversity of Russia's musical heritage will laid out in a buzzing programme, direct from Russia of dance, theatre and folk, pop and jazz music.
Maslenitsa is traditionally a family event, and its London cousin will be no different, with a children's marquee programme featuring exclusive performances by the award winning Theatre Chudaki, a presentation of Maslenitsa traditions, with audience interaction, performances of traditional songs by children's groups and plenty of competitions, games and fun.
Free public event
