(500) Days of Summer

Re: 500 Days of Summer
Sorry, my previous post was unclear - it's not that I like Cineworld - I don't particularly, especially my local one. I was just bemonaing the fact that there are no Cineworlds or Vues for this film and though there are some for The Hurt Locker, they don't include my local. If I'm goiing to see a film free, I don't care which chain has the preview, but it does need to be within reasonable travelling distance! It must be great to have a choice of cinema, as some people do (generally only in London or other large towns), but just one preview is all I ask. That said, I know others don't have nearly as many opportunities so it could be worse. You are right about Avatar but it's not for me and I wouldn't go anywhere for just 15 minutes' worth.

Does anyone know any more about the NDA? I don't see reasons why they would do this, especially just a week before the main release. Isn't this the time we are supposed to promote them?
What good to them is a NDA signed by name only anyway?

OK, I'll ask the question - what is NDA, Matt?

I think it stands for non disclosure agreement. In other words, you are not allowed to talk about the content of the film.andrews wrote:OK, I'll ask the question - what is NDA, Matt?

Re: 500 Days of Summer
Sorry that I didn't explain, I thought it might have been used before (I'm new to this). It says it on my ticket, and was mentioned in post 3.
I mean, realistically, I could talk about the film to my friends after (not that I will). Even if they found out, they know my name, and that is all, so what is the point?
I don't even know if its worth going to see this film if we are going to have to queue for ages, and fill out all sorts of details.

Seems a pointless waste of time, in some respects, giving out the free screenings then, doesn't it? It sort of defeats the object, which is what you have just been saying of course!

Well if some people stay at home because of NDA's at least it means I will get a good seat!

Have you had to do one of these before? What's it like?Beate wrote:Well if some people stay at home because of NDA's at least it means I will get a good seat!
I'm not willing to sign anything before reading it all through, I hope it's not pages and pages.

Re: 500 Days of Summer
No I haven't but I have equally not been ID checked many times even though that has been on every SFF ticket I have ever had. I am not really that fussed about it, what are they going to do, try and take me to court for promoting their film?
