continuing the oldies vibe, I was offered standby tickets on Saturday to go to that Duran Duran thing. Sadly it was too late for me to think about going and finding someone to go with then hang around on standby I would have loved to have gone if it was a cert that I'd get in.

Would have loved to have seen Duran Duran now and way back when! My favourite song is/was 'Don't Say A Prayer' and also Spandau Ballet, who could forget 'True'? Also, not forgetting ABC.

I still listen to ABC and Heaven 17 occassionally. Spandau were pretty groovy when they first started, before the ballads came along. I used to go the clubs they all used to hang out in Le Beate Route and The Wag Club. Those were the days

Wow you name dropper. Martin Fry used to live around the corner from me and we used to walk passed his house to try and catch a glimpse of a pop star; ABC were the support act for Robbie Williams a few years ago and they were absolutely brilliant.
I have just been clearing out my loft and have found my record collection including Culture Club, Heaven 17, Eddie Grant and for some bizarre reason there is a Showaddywaddy LP and an Alvin Stardust single (what was going through my mind)

I remember The Bay City Rollers and I remember singing two songs:

OMG that is what they were chanting throughout the concert I had never heard of either of the chants before. Are you a secret member of the BCR cult ?

Well Diane65, unforunately no I am not ! My friends' and I sang these in the primary school playground, along with being 'Charlie's Angels' and playing kiss chase!

Singing the B A Y to myself now and it was 'an' R, but 'R' is not a vowel, so how we sang that I do not know!

The main songs I remember from The Bay City Rollers were I Only Want To Be With You and Bye, Bye Baby, which my Dad used to sing to me every night at bed time

I was always Kelly, never wanted to be Sabrina- she was just too serious ! I remember one friend ha a jump suit with Charlies Angels on, my mum would not get me one - mine had US Army !

I loved Bye, Bye, Baby and also Summer Love Sensation. I also had a scarf with Bay City Rollers written on it and the longer than the 3/4 style trousers, I did look VERY cool !

My epic Rush odyssey continues. My friend's given me all of their studio albums so I'm listening to them chronologically. Currently into the real progressive rock period, with their fifth studio album, "A Farewell to Kings". I'm not one for reviewing music but I love it.
