Did anyone go to see Hamlet Clown Prince? Just wondering what it's all about.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I went yesterday with 3 friends. The play consists of 6 clowns acting Hamlet. They speak in English, a bit in French and in some made-up language. It was okay, but I was slightly disappointed since I was expecting it to be funnier. My friends enjoyed it more than I did. At one point some people left (I saw about 7 people near me leaving), so I guess it's not to everyone's taste.ejwrank wrote:Did anyone go to see Hamlet Clown Prince? Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Did anyone go to any of the Heinz Holliger events at King's Place? I went to the Wednesday one and thought it was good, some of it was a bit horror film esque and quite absorbing. The more traditional folky stuff wasn't for me and was a little bit on the long side, but was a bit different and glad I went - wondered what the other evenings were like.
I got tickets for the Sunday at the Roundhouse, but not sure if I'll make it in time from Oranges & Sunshine. It sounds interesting, but not overly sold.

I went to the Heinz Holliger tonight. It was called Fantasies and Journeys and had a variety of music from Schumann, Veress, Kurtag and Holliger. I found much of it to be incredibly way out of my comfort zone (especially the Holliger which sounded atonal and very odd to me). But I was glad I went and it's always good to experience something new and I like King's Place. It's very good of them to give away free tickets rather than have empty seats so bravo to them.

I really like King's Place as a venue, it's so nice and airy and the acoustics are really good.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
The free Theatre and free Screenings appear to be drying up a little is this normal for this time of the year? There seemed to be so many more events available over the winter period.
Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I went to a concert at King's Place on Friday and Hamlet Clown Prince at Hackney Empire last night so I think we're doing pretty well in the theatre/concerts offerings at the moment. It seems that we're quite a pampered lot in London especially!
