I had momentum pictures tickets, and similar to most people here didn't manage to get in. I queued for about 20-25 minutes in the rain and then was told the screening was full. It was quite inconsiderate, considering the girl who was checking tickets was telling people at 18:15 that we would be let in shortly and there was a guy counting people. My poor bf still had work to do, but agreed to meet me there to watch this film. So infuriating! Anyway, I was told that I'd be sent complimentary tickets to watch the film...right, like that's going to happen!

btw, happy belated birthday, phunkygal.

Last night's overbooking was an utter shambles, approx 200 people got turned away, it was disgraceful!

I too sent an email to momentum last night for the good it will do! Sounds like they will have lots of complaints to read through this morning.............

Wow.......sorry to hear that it sounded like utter mayhem last night. :(

And to think Phunkygal didn't get in on her birthday!!!!!!! Happy Belated Birthday to Phunky o/

Do you think there will any other previews nationwide to Dorien, as I saw it on a trailer yesterday before Inglorious
and I think I looks well worth a treck out.

Regards :D

What a complete fiasco! I'm so sorry for all of you who did not get in to see this film. I hope that those of you who have given your e-mail addresses are recompensed in some way, by being offered free tickets.

So sorry to hear that Phunkygal didn't get in on her birthday.

I too sent an email to Momentum last night! I would not like to be the person who has to open all those emails this morning!
I told them that I don't consider it to be a 'competition win' when I spend an hour getting into central London, another hour queuing pointlessly in the rain, and then another hour and twenty minutes getting home.
I also wanted to know why they didn't have a press screening on one night and a 'competition winner' screening on another occasion?
I also thought it was bizarre that when they did realise all the people in the queue were not going to get in, they decided to go to the back of the queue first to tell people this and to collect email addresses. Those of us at the front still didn't know what was going on. I could have just rolled up at 18:30 and been added to the list for comp tickets. Waiting to see whether anything will be offered.

The whole thing was a total mess, and I felt quite gutted. It was the first evening that I was going to meet all the rest of the folks from FMUK, and that just didn't happen.

However, when I got home I did have a nice surprise, as I learnt that I'd won tickets to the BBC Proms In The Park at Hyde Park......and those will be -proper- guaranteed tickets with no ridiculous queueing!

Just received an e-mail :-

Hello from all the team

The Dorian Gray screening last night turned into a bit of a fiasco, with people left standing in the rain and then large numbers unable to get in. This what not what we expected and the IndieMovies team apologises to anyone who had a wasted journey.

If you were unable to get a seat at the screening, please send me an email and we’ll sort out a compensation prize. If you did get in, what did you think of the film?

Two hundred waiting outside?!?! Now thats quite something! and I thought 20 people waiting outside the IB screening last week was bad. Thats quite a huge number of people overbooking (or maybe like I said last time, people coming with multiple copies of the same tickets?)
Anyway, I think there comes a point, when I have to think, if I am waiting 45 mins-1hr before a free screening starts, I might as well stay at work! and get pa*d for that time and go and b*y a ticket myself! instead of all this hassle. Thankfully, most screenings are quite hassle free and not full to the bream!
