Fast and the Furious 5: Rio Heist

#1 Post by superhero » Sat Apr 09, 2011 12:52 am

The franchise feels abit dated, so it was clever of them to introduce The Rock into the franchise and also to change the name to a slick sounding Fast Five instead of Fast and the furious 5

Except that on all promotional material it is now Fast And The Furious: Rio Heist. It has a colon.

Yes I've read the article now, apparently the name Fast Five hasn't tested well in the UK (it's less generic at least).
Some people might even get it confused with another upcoming Dwayne Johnson film, "Faster"

Despite the fact that there was no marketing for Faster whatsoever... But yes, that may not have helped.

I've seen a few posters here and there in the cinemas and I thought it might have been a teaser poster for FF5

I had previously seen a trailer for Fast Five in the cinema but yesterday I was the redone poster with the Rio Heist name. It sounds like a straight to DVD movie.

Tbh, I think this is a dated franchise. If they want to reboot it, I think they would do better without Walker and Diesel. It should be like the Final Destination films, whole new cast every time.

Much to my surprise, I've enjoyed these films - obviously I've got a thing for fast cars and handsome men! :D

I drove a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche GT3 and an Aston Martin on Friday! Was in a real need for speed so really loved it!

My friend is really looking forward to this movie. Hoping for some tickets preferably at WIQ. :cross:
