oh no, I missed applying for this event! :wall:

April 14th 2011 will mark an important date in jewellery history with the official presentation of ‘The World’s First Diamond Ring’, an in-depth animation that charts the creation of a unique ring composed entirely of a finished diamond with the band carved directly into the stone. London has been selected as the city to present this exclusive invitation-only event at one of the capital’s top, award-winning venues, Il Bottaccio at 9 Grosvenor Place, Mayfair.

The event will be attended by a select audience of 350 media, buyers, insiders from the fashion, art, music and film worlds, and celebrity VIPs. Commencing at 7pm with a champagne reception and live music, Shawish’s most recent jewellery collection will be on display throughout the evening.

Shawish jewellery is distinguished by attention to detail and extreme rigour throughout the manufacturing process. The jewellery is assembled in-house by a team of highly-skilled craftsmen in a workshop adjoining the showroom. “It’s a fantasy. It seemed impossible so we decided to embark on this adventure. We did it to make people’s dreams come true and to create the perfect diamond ring,” say the two young craftsman and founders of Swawish. Working in close proximity with artisans allows complete control over all stages of production from the initial faceting of the stones to polishing and assembly – all of which are carried out to Shawish’s own exacting standards.

I used to work in the in diamond industry, so saw a lot of diamonds! They were fabulous! o/

I went instead to the Korean Film Night and saw "My Wedding Campaign" at the Korean Cultural Centre.

In a fantastically grand building, suitably named Grand Buildings, entrance in Northumberland Avenue, off the Strand. You were greeted with orange juice, apple juice, water and biscuits before the screening. Unfortunately, there were no proper seatings but wide steps going up one side of the room where we sat on, no leg room or seat backs! Note to self: Remember to go earlier next time as the back row has the wall to lean back on.

The screen was great from floor to ceiling though. The film was whimsical and quite funny, and easy viewing. 7/10

Went to the screening of Game of Thrones at the BAFTA tonight.

Not really into this type of epics, so I did nod off a few times in the first episode and got totally confused with the story, who is who, and all the names, but stayed awake for the second episode. Apparently this is only the first book! Fans of the books will probably like it. The Q&A was fun. Shame we got un-invited to the drinks reception afterwards, "due to oversubscription from Sky’s guests and BAFTA members unfortunately we will not be able to admit you to the reception afterwards". That was very disappointing.

Lovely to spend the evening with valda and funthing29 though. Also great to see canadian_turtle too, who managed to snap a photo with Harry Lloyd, before the screening. Well done! o/ I wouldn't have known him even if I bumped into him though! LOL

Had a nice time today at an exhibition/conference. The free Ice cream stand was popular given the weather, I tried to avoid it though. There were lots of different people performing at various times on stage, there was an area giving free massages.
Went to a corporate thing this evening to help taste out new products before launch, which was very nice. I was surprised there were only a few people invited and I managed to get a +1 otherwise we might have gone to see Arthur instead. Mostly it was senior staff who were very very welcoming asking for opinions and giving some interesting insights. Apart from new product launches, they also offered the existing stuff and the head chef was around to explain everything and she let us just pick other things off the menu for drinks and even more food. It was quite intimate, as maybe only 12 people were invited.
Luckily i didn't make too much of a fool of myself as I was sitting opposite Charles Campion, the food critic (masterchef amongst others) and I just kept espousing my humble opinions with a complete lack of culinary knowledge!

ooh, superhero love this type of evening outs - food and drinks!

I had a lovely Maundy Thursday yesterday. Very lucky to get an invite to the Royal Maundy at Westminster Abbey in the morning, as it only happens at Westminster Abbey once every 10 years! This is one service that the Queen loves, where she hands out money bags "Maundy money" to local pensioners every Easter at a UK cathedral or abbey, in recognition of the service of elderly people to their community and their church.

I was sat five rows behind the Queen and Prince Philip and had an unrestricted view of Prince Philip doing his reading as my seat was directly facing to the side of the lectern! When the Queen was doing her presentations, she walked right pass our row too! This was the second time I have been to the Abbey for a service with the Queen attending, the first time, I was sitting on the seventh row facing the Queen, so I am getting nearer! Although this is my third time at the Abbey for a service.

I taped the proceedings and just about spotted myself on TV several times! ;)

Then in the evening went to the Altitude 1st Birthday Party in the River Room and Paint Gallery. What a great evening it turned out to be, lovely food, good quality drinks, lots of dancing, and messing about in the photobooth and it was great, as you can email it to yourselves afterwards as well as get a print out! o/
