Saw Jamiroquai tonight at the Glasgow SECC, pure dead brilliant o/

It was very rock and roll with a fantastic spacey backdrop. He can still move and groove and was jumping around the stage in a hat and fringed shirt :T

Was a little disappointed he didn't play any ballads or 'Too Young to Die' but his encore of 'White Knuckle Ride' was a great sendoff.

there was only around 4000 people there and a lot of empty spaces, sign of the times i suppose.

If you get a chance to catch the show i'd highly recommend.

Have given in and got tickets to see The Killers at Hard Rock Calling at Hyde Park!

Already got tickets for Bon Jovi on the Saturday and quite fancy going to see Rod Stewart on the Sunday,
but I need to be in work the next day, so may have a problem there.

Anyone else going to Hard Rock Calling? I know Valda is going to The Killers.

Has anyone else got the Trey Songz tickets, do you just have to go to the Apollo beforehand to pick them up as no information on the tickets or in the email re pick up time.

Just got a pair for daughter, planning to get to the Apollo round about 6.30 ish to get to the box office.
When free tickets have been available for the m.e.n or the palace theatre they have always stated from 6.30 onwards

There is always a huge queue around the apollo prior to show times anyway, not sure where the box office is ?

Student daughter fuming, as her and bf already pa*d £25.00 each to see him in liverpool. His last and only North West gig in Manchester, sold out mega quick.

Hmmm... as a way of consolation I find myself driving towards Manchester on Sunday.

Thanks jordsmum, I was thinking to turn up around an hour before as I have done with other shows @ men & palace, but think maybe she should turn up earlier as I forgot how bad it can be at the apollo. My DD is also a student just came home for easter the other day. I had never heard of Trey Songz, but when I clicked on the link I thought she might have and she is sooo chuffed I have tickets for her and her friends. She kept checking that they were free and legit!

Not sure he would be my cup of tea but sure DD & friends will enjoy.

Blagged a free ticket tonight to see a sold out gig by the newly reformed punk legends Descendents at Shepherd’s Bush Empire... And it turned out to be quite an evening!

They came out all guns blazing, then after 3 songs, singer Milo loses his voice, has a tantrum and throws the microphone on the floor, except it somehow bounces back and hits the guitarist in the face. Ouch! Milo storms off, and the singer from the support band sings a song or two. Then Milo comes back and struggles through a couple of songs, but he’s growling so it’s like death metal Descendents! And it’s just not happening, when your voice is gone, what can you do! Drama! And you can’t cancel the show as people have travelled to see this from far and wide!

So what do they do? They swap instruments, drummer takes the guitar, guitarist goes on drums, Milo takes the bass and the bass player – sings! But that only lasts a couple of songs. Milo can’t really play bass! Few more members of the support band come on to do a few songs, the drummer sings a few, they even get their old roadie to belt one out! In between songs, whoever is on guitar is briefly teaching Milo how to play the next song, how punk is that! Learning to play on stage! Improvised, chaotic and shambolic, but hilarious and very brave too! The crowd loves it, mic is passed around to fans at the front to sing along, and at the end of it all it turned out to be a one-off, a very special Descendents gig. Few idiots booed at the end, but on the whole I loved it.

And then...
I got propositioned by a complete stranger 8O
Here's one of my favourite Descendents songs:

Sounds like you had a great time, thedude. Must have been fun, all that chaos. And congrats on winning a ticket to the gig.

...and being proposed to, lol. That was the most interesting and bizarre concert review I've read! I am glad you were in a fun crowd as opposed to a whining booing one. Credit to the band for improvising, and teaching their members how to play instruments on the fly...damn that must have been hilarious.

How was the concert? I was gutted that I was away as he is brilliant, I love R n B and Hip-Hop. I know that I am not a typical fan but I just love the music.
