I was amazed, i actually got the email for this easter one! admittedly it arrived at least an hour after it appeared here but still!
Kotranka and Ucakpam, i went to Wastwater too. I enjoyed it a lot more than you did by the sound of it, but i'm still completely baffled as to what it was about. My OH thought maybe the plane crashed and thats why it went a bit weird. I think he was reading too much into it ;-)

it was ok, but a bit pointless, the scenes were all unrelated (if there wasnt a plane crash lol)

fiery acting, but I have to say, a really crappy theatre stage. God knows why there are Londoners existing who would p*y £20 for a short play like this, but its worth it for £3 hehe.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Funny SFF hasn't offered any tickets for Cause Celebre yet. I would have wanted to go and see the 2nd half, but parents are visiting and I don't think they would enjoy the play (they might need night vision googles)

Was hoping to see it again a bit further into the run when they had time to get their timing lighting etc sorted. I was told it got some good reviews?!?

Thanks Superhero for postng the link for New Rope String Band.
Have never heard of them but it sounds intriguing.
It will have to compete with Water for Elephants ... but Kings Place is tempting ...

Have only got tickets for Wednesday ... but by then we'll see, a lot can change in a week.
I booked Kings Place anyway. I usually tend to feel that a film is something I can always catch up with some other time or even on TV and it will still be the same film,
while you can only see a live performance ... well ... live :star:

I went too and it was lovely to see ejwrank there too, and had a nice chat before the show. I forgot all about the free drink until they gave me the vouchers when collecting the tickets, so it was a lovely bonus! I enjoyed the show, and thought it was pretty good, the link between the three storylines were actually quite subtle, but I did get slightly lost with the last story.
Couldn't understand why the woman was torturing the guy?
I thought the sets were very well done and effective to convey each location. Anyway, for £3 for a seat in the third row in the stalls, a drink and an evening out, it's a bargain! Thanks bevvy o/

I keep meaning to post about a great free concert I went to on Wednesday at BBC Maida Vale Studios.
It was Brahms' 4th Symphony played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jiri Belohlavek. In the first part of the programme ("Discovering Music" recorded for radio 3) Stephen Johnson introduced the symphony with the orchestra playing the bits he was talking about and after the interval they played the whole symphony.
Both parts were amazing! This was my first time but I hope there will be more. They seem to do that regularly (although I couldn't find any more concerts on their website in the near future). Has any of you ever been there? :star:

I've been to two BBC Discovering Music concerts, last year The Nutcracker and recently Falla Nights in the Gardens of Spain. Both were afternoon shows in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, which incidentally has the most comfortable seats I've ever found in a theatre/cinema/hall. They were the same format as you describe and I enjoyed them both immensely.

I've got a feeling that these programmes are also recorded in venues outside London.

Richmond, Kingston, West End, Wimbledon, Shepherds Bush, Clapham, Westfield, Fulham
