Everything Celini said o/ Nice to see you, funthing and prettyxcool this morning at Swiss Cottage. As for the film - not worth the early morning start.

Agreed that this would have been better served as a documentary. Being an agnostic leaning towards athiesm, the whole religious aspect here wore greatly on my nerves. Yes, the Lord works in mysterious ways, sending that Tsunami over to Thailand in order to give one girl some perspective. Rock on, God dude!
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

The Thailand bit was especially grating. "Look little kid, these waves just killed your family, quick, come on in and I'll show you how they can save you". Felt very condescending to the Thai people and annoyingly "God bless America".

It seemed like a sunday afternoon channel 5 TVmovie which they had to turn into a film due to the cost of the CGI in rubbing out the arm and p*ying for Dennis Quaid & Helen Hunt. Maybe the girl herself wrote the script to add to her talents?
I was worried that they were about to give the most wooden of them all (the boy that was the slight love interest) more lines at one point but fortunately they didn't, was wondering if he's a real skateboarder and that's how he got the part but they didn't really show him doing much of that.

This film was a bunch of clichés tacked on together. Felt very Disney without any magic or sparkle. Story was predictable, corny sentimentality and aims to finish with a feelgood message. Pretty mediocre fare but I'm sure kids will love it. 4/10.

I only really made to the effort this morning to see the new Swiss Cottage cinema which does look nice (but is troubled with the same problems it had before - one hand dryer in the women's toilets :rolleyes: ). Nice to see pxc, Celini, ejwrank and David.

so the lead shark_attacked_surfer and skater_boy are both professional actors according to IMDB... I may revise my score and give it a 2/10 then :shifty:

@Funthing: I haven't visited to the toilet... what's a one hand dryer???
edit: you mean there is only 1 hand dryer?

I recognised the girl playing Bethany from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt (geez she does look old) are the big names. The doctor looked familiar but I couldn't place him. I have no clue who anyone else is.

The toilets outside the screen (which had a long queue as we were leaving) has only a single machine for drying hands.

pxc and I had a nose upstairs after the film to check out the swanky new bars and the upstairs toilets only had 2 hand dryers. :rolleyes:

Glad I didn't bother with this then! Doesn't sound like it was worth giving up my Saturday morning lie in for. Sounds pretty awful.
