this sounds awesome. How a child can summon the courage to start going out again let alone compete in championships is beyond me. Some people are just incredible.

I'm more looking forward to seeing the newly refurbished Swiss Cottage cinema than the actual film, LOL.

Who else is going to Swiss Cottage tomorrow?

Me too. What's all this about Swiss Cottage having an imax screen? Wonder if it will be shown there.

Being based on a true story is not an excuse for a bad screenplay, a bad script, a bad direction and a bad acting!!!!
By the way was the lead a real life surfer or a real life actress  ?

This was just a succession of over cheesy scenes very poorly acted (I was ok with the parents and the doc though).
Ok, with just one arm you can't cut a tomato, you can't open a bag of bread, you can't hold your brother's hand over diner blessing, you can't tie your hair, you can't dress yourself so easily... right I guess we got the point, thank you!

I wished they had decided to make a good documentary out of the story rather than a low_key_Baywatch_kinda_movie!

I will generously give it a 3/10 (for this big blue sea and nicely toned and tanned bodies!)

I almost forgot! We stayed till after the credits and we had the pleasure to read this:
"The end.... is just the beginning" :shifty: Really... is she going to become the most talented neurosurgeon now????

And now my feelings about the newly refurbished Odeon Swiss Cottage.
The print out mentioned a 10am arrival for a 10.30am start; by 10.15 they still did not know which screen to use for the movie!
It was finally screen 2; rather small screen, not much leg room and almost no incline!
We made our way to the "Club seats" on the back, very comfy and lots of leg room there o/

At 10.30am they started rolling up advertisements and trailer (reminder: It was a Sky preview screening!)
Nice touch for a PG screening, we had 4 boozie ads and 1 Durex ad
The air conditioning works: I was freezing during the entire movie...

After this morning experience I would say "Put your s*it together Odeon!"
That said, I am sure they will improve with time :D
