That wasn't a "premiere" as such. Sometimes it's hard to tell, but for sure they would never do a Q&A at a full Odeon Leicester Square

that's a shame! I would have really like to see what the director/cast would say about the film because it really did not convince me!

@tarantinoed: we were sitting few rows behind you (T24 and T25), Turtle yelled your name, but nobody turned back :(
Sorry, I didn't hear - I had two girls to my right who were really noisy until a bit after the film started! I imagined you called my real name but I've been meaning to say for a while that despite my user name I'm not a really big fan of Tarantino (I was in a rush when I joined the forum). Also, how many people in fur coats or dolled up to the nines (a northern expression) did you see there? I felt distinctly under-dressed although I'm sure my fellow fmukers are always glamouressly turned out.

Average fare. This film is a vehicle for Clooney and it doesn't have much else going for it. His performance is the only thing that managed to keep my attention as the story was pretty thin. The few comedic moments didn't feel in sync with the seriousness of the story (unlike 50/50 which achieved the balance rather well) so the tone of this film didn't feel right. It was too long, the script was bland and it was hard to care for any of the characters. 5/10.

I saw George on the red carpet, he walked right past me and I think he may have brushed against me. He is so short in person!

That's a fantastic picture of Gorgeous George (that title needs to be taken away from George Galloway) you have there. My friend only managed one of the back of his head in the distance! I emailed the blog link to her to make her jealous.

Thanks, tarantinoed! And lol making you're friend jealous :D We would've also only gotten the back of his head if it weren't for the fact that he turned around after he hit the press and walked back on the red carpet away from the theatre while we were walking towards it.

As for the movie; I am in a small minority on the board so far (though the movie did get a glowing 5 star review in The Times), but I really, really enjoyed it. The film had funny moments (I laughed plenty of times), sad parts (nearly moving me to tears), it was quirky and just generally a really enjoyable watch.

While George Clooney is obviously the main attraction celebrity wise for many people I also really like the kids who played his daughters and the boy that tagged along; Sid. They ensured that the movie did not become solely focused on one actor while simultaneously providing a sense of the "family man" behind the main character.

c_t, I don't think we are in the minority, there's acting buzz/noms for George Clooney on this film, I doubt he will get anything acting-wise for Ides of March
