I didn't really enjoy it either, I just didn't care about any of the characters with the bizarre decisions they were making.
Quite a few people left the screening I was at in Bristol.
On the plus side I managed to collect my Mail on Sunday tickets whilst I was at the cinema.

Re: The Paperboy
Back from Glasgow. What a load of tosh.
It could had been good but it was bad, really bad. Was it suppose to arty farty, indie, contemporary. It was funny shades of colour. And boy did I have to concentrate to work out what was happening. From the credits McConaughey was the lead yet I felt it was Efron's film. The actors and actresses couldn't save this. I did wonder whether this was from a book as it had a book feeling to it. 1/10

Brave performances. Such a brutal film, made me cringe in parts! I'm glad i took my OH to this and not my mum!
I enjoyed it in parts too and i thought Macy Gray was quite funny! 6/10

Perhaps I should have read a little more about it. After 'that' scene my 70 year old mother nudged me and said I'm exhausted after watching that (classic).
Last bit was by far the best 3/10

Huh? Killer Joe was great! But even if you thought it was lacking (which it definitely wasn't IMHO), you certainly can't slam Matthew McConaughey; he gave the performance of a lifetime.Beate wrote:a bit like in Killer Joe. Poor McConaughey - he stumbled from one misfortune to the next.
Re: The Paperboy
Viewed as a bit of brutal trash, the film was watchable.
Nobody left our screening early.

Re: The Paperboy
I'm just back from watching this with my other half and I would have to say we both enjoyed it. Yes its a bit dark in places but overall I thought the story and the characters held you. Great to see actors that you know playing totally different parts to their normal castings. I'll be recommending this to my friends. Its a 7/10 from me.
