Perhaps there are going to be several screenings up and down the country. We may get some free tickets for this. I hope so. I read all these books as a child, and loved them.

Re: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
I loved the books when I was a kid too but the only one I really didnt like at all was The Last Battle..that was extremely depressing to read. I gave it another go recently and while I understood its Christian anologies more this time, (and I do like that) I still hated the narrative. It seems like it were written by a more cynical yet deeply religious phase of CS Lewis life. Can't see a movie been made out of that one. But I love all the rest including The Horse and His Boy which most most seem to find the least enjoyable. My absolute favourite though is the Magician's Nephew, why do they always skip this story? Remember the old BBC Narnia series? They skipped Magician's Nephew then too! Dont understand why, its got magic rings, portals to other worlds, scary witches, mad scientists, flying talking horses, several action scenes. No big battle though, perhaps thats why!

Re: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
i read the books as a kid too, Mr G, like tolkien they start off cool, but the last two (Silmarillion sequels for tolkien, Last Battle and Magicians Nephew for Lewis) really were out of it and hard to read. its a pity that those books werent better, because i was interested in reading about the parallel worlds that the the White Witch traveled between, long before Phil Pullman wrote about it (and i think with more skill as well... Lewis reference to parallel worlds sounds spooky and absorbing, but Pullman's seemed a bit of a cop out!).
blimey you sounded like a brainy kid reading all the books!

Re: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
Looking forward to this having read the books and seen the first two films.
I think the last free Saturday film was years and years ago either School of Rock or the Disney non-classic, Brother Bear!!

I hate it when they do 4 tickets and some people just decide to grab 4 anyway without a care in the world....
