Has James Franco been in any comedy films? I can't see him doing jokes etc. all that well. He could end up being like Hugh Jackman which I don't think went down that well.

I can see Ann Hathaway doing well, but may need a better partner to play off.

Just my opinion though

Only three nominees will be in the running for best animated feature film at this year's Academy Awards.
Oscar organizers announced Monday that 15 animated features have been accepted for consideration, one short of the minimum 16 needed to expand the category to five nominees.

Among the films accepted for consideration are Toy Story 3, which was the year's top-grossing movie, along with fellow hits How to Train Your Dragon,Despicable Me,Shrek Forever After and Megamind.

Four films have yet to hit Los Angeles theaters to qualify for this year's Oscars: Tangled,The Illusionist,The Dreams of Jinsha and Summer Wars.

Nominations come out Jan. 25, with the Oscar ceremony following on Feb. 27.

Yes it's brave to be first, but there's not much left to screen now...It must be screened before 31st Dec in the States

I've just been having a look - The Independent has also come up with its suggestions or Best Picture - and none have been released in the UK yet.

'To qualify for the Oscars, a film must have run for at least a week in both Los Angeles and New York by 31 December. As a result of this rule, a slew of well-regarded titles have been stored-up for release in the coming weeks. Their makers hope they'll remain in the minds of a few thousand voting Academy members when decision time arrives a few weeks into the New Year.'

The suggestions are:

The King's Speech - will Colin Firth get his Oscar?
127 Hours - will James Franco get one, and present it to himself? or hand Danny Boyle another?
True Grit
The Fighter
Black Swan - Natalie Portman tipped for Best Actress already
Hereafter
How Do You Know
The Way Back

And the burning question of all - how many of these will have free previews? :D

It also looks as if we shall have some really good films to look forward to at the beginning of 2011. o/

The Fighter's building some momentum, it's opening next week in the States and Christian Bale looks likely to get an acting nom (best supporting?)
