Saw this at a very low turnout in Bournemouth about 1/4 full. We were all given popcorn and 3d glasses free which was a nice surprise. As for the film loved every minute of it great story well acted and the visual efforts were superb. It was a film to just melt into and forget about the outside world, highly recommend to go and see. o/ :D o/

I think Manchester was 100% full last night.

The film was fun, especially the fish out of water stuff when Thor first arrives on Earth. I could have done with a bit less of Thor's CGI home world, this sort of stuff always looks a bit videogamey, but overall the mix was pretty good for what is a bonkers story and handled wrongly could have been a real turkey.

On top of that I thought Thor's friends were a bit one dimensional and couldn't help thinking that the guy with a beard was a poor man's Brian Blessed.

It's also now the third time I've seen the short film, and though I like it very much, it would be nice to see some of the other finalists.

    Overall a fun film.

    * One more moan. Although the free popcorn is lovely touch, near me it drowned out the first 20minutes or so of the movie - free marshmallows next time maybe?

Enjoyed the film at Westerhailes, Edinburgh until the sound went muffled and despite waiting for ages and three attempts at trying to get the sound right they eventually just carried on and we had to lip read!!
Gave out tickets for you to see it again on Wednesday or Thursday but seen too much of it by that time to go and sit through it all again. Can only guess by the actions on the screen what the actual end was!!

Only 6/10 because of the muffled sound which spoilt the ending.

thedude wrote:Quite enjoyed this, it fits well with the whole Avengers thing, so I'm looking forward to it all coming together. Agree about 3D, a waste of time for the most part. Asgard looked spectacular, I've no problem with the cast or style of direction, special effects were pretty good too (although there was one dodgy cgi moment in a battle early on in the film), and I liked a touch of humour here and there. Nice score, though I wasn't sure about that (Foo Fighters?) song at the end. Overall 8/10 from me.
ooh I nearly got to meet you. My mate wanted to stay for the credits, muttering about Green Arrow and things I know nothing about, anyway I got talking to your mate o/
Oh you were in Kensington last night!?

I went for a second viewing but had to dash during the credits as I'd already seen the extra scene. I hadn't been to that cinema in years so was curious to see what it's like, and it's much nicer than Whiteleys.

So the one time I see a film in Edinburgh... Urgh, indeed.

I loooved this so was especially frustrated by the sound issues. We got two Odeon vouchers so I can see this properly in London.

Think I saw him too . Right after the extra scene at the end. I did wonder why the cameras were filming us as we sat down and were readying ourselves for the film at the start. The popcorn was a nice touch, a couple in front had ended up b*ying their own bucket only to find the freebies on the seats.

I really liked this, the humour was funny (the hospital scene, pet shop, the ipod roof convo) and the fighting scenes were quite good too (especially in the mud). Anthony Hopkins was great as usual and I thought the main actor was also very convincing, certainly lifted my wife's spirits watching him, deflated me and my lack of 6 pack but that's another story. 8/10 from me

Oh!! so it was you that put a jinx on it was it? You were very lucky to get Odeon vouchers which you can use to see any film whereas we would only be allowed to watch the same film again.

Shame we didn't all know you were going to be there SF or we would have made a point of meeting you afterwards. Let us know if you are coming up to Edinburgh again - doesn't always go wrong you know. ;) We are quite friendly up here so don't be scared!!

What brought you up to Edinburgh - was it work or a holiday?

I'm here on holiday, seeing Derren Brown's show Thursday & hanging around doing touristy stuff otherwise. I will actually see this again because I did enjoy it and really want to hear the rest of it. I also left before the teaser after the credits because I didn't want it spoiled for me before I can see it all properly.

Sure was packed, and there I thought I would be the only one...oh with mama ;)

Still enjoyed this second time around. but I really hate the 3d, just spoils the visual splendour of asgard.

Did you stay for end credits?
I couldn't, I was behind you in the queue, didn't want to get beaten up by someone for queue jumping! I tried to catch you when we went inside but you were long gone. Were you sitting upstairs? I didn't know how to get up there as it was my first time there so I just followed everybody.

I agree the 3D was completely useless. I actually took the glass off in between to rub my eyes and give it abit of a rest. Was fine without it! Yes I did stay for the end credits. I was sitting right at the back. I did move to the front initially as I struggle with big heads (remember how I practically sat on top of you and funthing at "Your Highness?") but then I couldn't see anything without my neck hurting so moved back when I found ejwrank but she was in the middle and it was hard getting her attention as it was too busy and she was looking in the opposite direction! I was too concious of knocking over people to get to her until ML saw me and waved. She had a spare seat next to her thankfully so I went there instead. Good seats too so thanks so much ML!
ejwrank wrote: We stayed until the credits finished (and they are l o n g!)
Yes, I was getting bored waiting! ML wanted to go and I kept telling her to wait!!! Lol.

Haha! I wish! That is why I normally struggle to get a +1 and you don't! :tears: (Although saying that I really do prefer going on my own than with friends unless one of you guys are my plus one!)
