Much obliged :-)
Aren't spoilers usually cut anyway? And I think the embargo was just for proper press as there was nothing on my ticket about this, nor did I sign anything. In fact, it wasn't mentioned at the screening at all, which it has been in the past (for instance Woman in Black).
If you mean do people use the spoiler button, then no, not all do and they quite often spoil a film before a preview showing anywhere other than London.

Secondly, you might not have signed an embargo but there are people on here who will and that is who I was referring to.

Glad to hear mainly positive reviews.

As for phones being taken off you, I'm of a mind that it should happen more often and not just at Press Previews and big films because I am sick to death of being blinded by selfish morons who have to check and text every few minutes.

I had this again during The Muppets.

When the phone isn't taken away, I find them telling you that ALL the time. And of course, they go up and down the stairs (blocking your view) to make sure nobody is on the phone.

Talking about taking it in and getting caught... I'm sure TheyCallMeMrGlass will have a fair few experiences of when he was told to switch his phone off at a screening and he turned it back on and got caught... Right glassy? Lol.

Beate wrote:Nice to see canadian_turtle, valda, prettyxcool and MrG, who gave us seats next to him then disappeared into the foyer, never to be seen again! He might have ended up with the girls further down, I am not sure.
You kidding, he did that, what a git!! Ah, who am I kidding, I really did that, am so weak...I saw a choice of sitting next to one lovely girl and sitting next to several lovely girls...I'm so damn week, I couldnt help it! A guy like me just cant just handle those kind of options rationally :) Oh and did like where they were sitting...

But it was lovely to see you and OH, C_T, Valda, Mei & OH again. C_T good call with giving my 2/3 full unfinished popcorn to the poor homeless guys on the street in the dreadful weather. I shamefully never think about them, I was just going to abandon it in the cinema.

Anyway on to the movie. This was a jumbo popcorn bucket load of FUN! The story concept is silly...along the lines of say True Lies silliness. But absolutely entertaining and at times laugh out loud funny, largely due to the slickly playful performances from Chris Pine (doing an even better flirtatious Captain Kirk than he did in Star Trek), and Tom Hardy, 2 typical Hollywood good looking secret sevice agents (and close friends/partners) abusing their secret service powers to fight over the same girl they coincidentally find themselves dating. And that lucky girl is played by a wonderful Reese Witherspoon. Lovely to see her playing a comic role again and even though she isnt given a big chunk of the comedy, her charisma shines through while still cutting a fine sexy figure (though her puppiness looks has got a little leaner now) for the good looking boys to fight over.

Although the film starts off with an action setpiece and some straight off the bat smarmy play from the 2 leads, the real fun kicks off when the "war" starts. There are some hilarious situations and the film zips along at a frantic pace. There is a half ass thriller buried in the film somewhere to drive some kind of action orientated plot but it is very negligible with a thrill factor of zero. But thankfully very little time is spent on that, the film is about the war of the unorthodox dating/courtships between the 2 agents and that's what makes the a absolute blast.

This would be a perfect date movie for couples, would really spark up the moods, unless the female half wants to cry on a date movie then alright, go see Titanic 3D :)

Actually cinemas are releasing this on Valentines day only before its general release in March, smart move, but would be even better if they gave out more free preview tickets around UK :P ).

I quite like the ending. Nice little twist even if it was predictable.
A LOT of people started moving before the titles (probably wanting to get their phone quickly) but when realising the film wasn't over yet stood watching the remains of the film right in front of our row!

I think it his initials.
That's what I meant when I said abbreviation, I couldn't think of the correct English word for it.

Beate wrote:Where did you find the elusive EthanRunt?

Btw, they showed a trailer for Titanic in 3D beforehand and I had forgotten how much I love this film. So looking forward to this now next week. Weehee.
He's elusive?

And ditto on Titanic, SO looking forward to it!! Word of warning, don't sit next to Valda, I think she really doesn't like the film (and I'll be bawling my eyes out, I don't want snide remarks about poor Jack :p)

filmcat wrote:Aren't people a bit naughty mentioning parts of T M W on here as they signed to say they wouldn't?
As I have saidbefore, there was no mention of the movie being embargoed (which they have said before other screenings I've been to and which I've dutifully followed) nor was I asked to sign anything. The premiere of this movie was in fact last week and there was no mention of any embargo that night either. So no, I don't think I am being a "bit naughty".

Speaking of Titanic (and thank the heavens we got a trailer!! for a film surely everyone has already seen), what a painful shoe-horning of the film into This Means War. Almost as shameless as NYE pimping Sherlock Holmes.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.
