Erm - that's a spoiler.

Re: Tamara Drewe
Not half bad.
Does anyone do "Oily" quite like Roger Allam ??
Thought Dominic Cooper was pretty good as Drummer Ben Sergeant as well.
8/10 as it gave me a break from Sunday Morning Circuit Training

Re: Tamara Drewe
Saw this today at Wester Hailes and quite full despite the lovely weather we have been having in Edinburgh at the moment.
Really enjoyed the film, and loved the two young girls. Was pleased to see as its a BBC film that my licence fee has gone on a good film!!
Had a boxer dog when i was young so loved the dog and thought about mine all the way home.
8/10 from us

Re: Tamara Drewe
Rocked up at the Odeon West End at 5pm where the competition tickets were supposed to be handed out despite the premiere being at the Odeon Leicester Square. Yes, that is a different cinema, albeit one only a few metres away. At 5.15pm the ticket guy turned up and I got handed the tickets without any problem despite them being in my OH's name and him not being there at all. Bevvy and I then had a quick meal in a cafe right where the barriers started but we were at the wrong end and couldn't see anything happening. We went on the green carpet at roughly 6pm, shortly before the VIP's, which is probably why we were shooed inside as quickly as possible.
We had tickets in the back of the stalls which didn't turn out to be so bad as we had two empty seats in front, but there wasn't a lot of legroom and the guy sitting behind me had 2 metre long legs and constantly kicked my seat while folding and unfolding them. Each seat had a bottle of Vitamin Water, some chocolate and a CD titled "Pearl and the Puppets - because i do". You were meant to be seated by 6.45pm but people were still streaming in by 7pm. They entertained us by showing people arriving and being interviewed on the green carpet, plus earlier cast interviews, film clips and something about the Princes Trust. Apart from the cast I saw Lily Allen and Stephen Fry, plus some Z-celebs with their boobs hanging out. At 7.05pm the cast and crew filed on stage for about 2 minutes, then the film started. I took a few pictures but you can't see much as so far away. The best pictures are actually the ones of bevvy strutting her stuff on the green carpet!
This is a film you can happily watch twice, as it's so quirky and very very funny, with some great performances. There is this scene where Tamsin Greig bakes a cake and monologues to no one in particular about the doubts she is having about her husband because "he tells the truth a lot these days, and maybe I should remind him that in the book soandso's wife runs him through with the carving knife". There are so many witty one-liners, for example when Tamsin Greig throws a flower pot at her cheating husband in front of the watching "writer's retreat" guests, which causes one to remark, "I didn't know they provided material too!" Found the line again which made me crack up last time: One of the teenagers, upon reading a gossip mag, says dreamily "Nice baby though. I'd like one in that colour."
