Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Finally booked my tickets for BFI IMAX on the day of release. They seriously need to sort out their booking system, tickets were available from 00.01 this morning and loads still couldn't get through. Mind you that may be a good thing as otherwise I may not have gotten any seats! I'm deliriously excited, of course.
Go ahead, make my day - by visiting my blog: http://jacobthehobnob.wordpress.com/

i've joined people on twitter requesting that cineworld do a showing of all 3 films in a row. i would LOVE to go to that!
i am also going to see it in Dbox AND Imax. I spent an hour reading all the interviews and bits and bobs in Empire magazine yesterday and I'm now SO excited I'm not sure what to do with myself as I'm away that weekend of release!!! GAH!!

Thinking of booking tickets to go watch this at IMAX. Is it worth it?

Just curious if anyone knows why the regional premiere comp through SFF no longer exists. Superhero, any inside scoop on this?
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

I just noticed that, I'm hoping it was put up too early and it'll come back with more locations :cross:

I think it was taken down permanently. WB has prevented UK cinema chains from adding a midnight showing since they want the first permitted screening to be midnight on July 20th in America, and due to time zones, thats like 5am here. This is so the ending doesn't get leaked a few hours earlier. So if thats how they feel about a few hours, i think offering people to see it 20 days earlier freaked them out and they ordered to take it down?

This topic has really irked me. The film opens in Australia & New Zealand on 19 July. Given the time differences that's almost 2 days before it opens across the US. Since there's a rumour that they have internet in Oz, I think that may pose a bigger threat of spoilers than any midnight screening would.

More specifically though, the com was for regional premieres, which would occur the day of the premiere in London, so 17 July, three days prior to release, not 20. </end rant>

Meh. I'm just taking my information about the incident here: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=61254

Also, for the regional premiere thing, chalk that up to a misunderstanding. When that was online for the short time that it was, i looked for the actual date of the screening. Couldn't see anything to either point my head in the right direction. Only thing i saw was a date for June 30th. Which, considering it was the only date on the page that i could see, i assumed was the date of the screening. Didn't even see that it was for a regional premiere, as The Avengers screening comp from SFF happened before the premiere aswell, so i figured for this it would happen earlier than the logical premiere aswell

The Avengers fan screening was for London only; this comp included 4 locations, so it was fair to assume they were regional Premieres, as they like to call them nowadays

I sent an email to SFF about it earlier today, will update here if they get back to me.
