Another success! Woohoo akh43!!akh43 wrote:I seem to have lost a couple of pounds
Those are great results. If you two are like me - actually seeing your results really will give you a huge buzz and make it all seem terrifically worthwhile and spur you on to continue.

I'm definately no expert (we'll need to get MrG's take on this for that) but what akh43 says here rings very true with me, and maybe is a very good point to bear in mind. Someone on this site (can't remember who) has got a quote as part of their signature which says something like "if you keep on doing the same old things - things will stay the same".
Every time I see it, I think "Yeah, that's very true". But actually I guess you don't need to radically change everything you do to bring about some significant changes.
By cutting down on our more outrageous snacking habits, and simply taking some more exercise than what we would usually do, I'm sure we will see at least some improvements and move towards our weight loss goals.
OK perhaps that wont be the optimal path, and we won't get to where we want to be so quickly, or go as far as we initially wanted, but a more "relaxed" approach may actually make the difference between someone saying "Oh sod it - I've had enough this is just too onerous" and "Yeah, I'll keep on going, cause it's pretty relaxed really".
I guess it's horses for courses, and even for the same individual, how they feel may change over the course of time.
As someone mentioned earlier - "If you eat less calories and increase the rate at which you burn them, then you will lose weight!"
Let's all strive our best to just do that - but also keep in mind that we are not having to be too obsessional about it, or make it any harder for ourselves than it needs to be.
Slow and steady wins the race!
Diane - The very best of luck, I'm really excited for you. I just know that all your hard work is going to have pa*d off and that you are going to do well!!Diane65 wrote: Its my weigh in day today, I use the scales at work so I'll post later.
Diane + Akh43 will we be seeing "weight loss ticker things" from you two?
