Hearing your description of it, I think I would hate it. I don't like aaudiences shouting out, I guess its my age. I don't mind laughing etc but not 'witty' comments. Unless its SINGALONAROCKYHORROR

The Dark Knight was amazing at The Imax, and we had fantastic seats right in the middle. Wierdie you are going to love it. Slightly annoying black blobs on the screen floating around (like floaters in your eyes) and the power cut out about 35 mins before the end but apart from that it was fabulous.

I recall Nolan film only parts of the film in special Imax proportions, which parts were they, Valda? I might very well catch a showing of it too!

I'd love to go tonight though not sure it would be overly comfortable, the seats aren't as comfy as other places i don't think. But then I didn't take a pillow hehe

have a great time! i'm uber jealous but glad i went last night. my 32" tv now seems pathetically teeeny weeny and i'm not sure cinema will ever be the same!

MrG I have no idea what that means All I can say is that the cityscape view were stunning especially the night views - there's me thinking Canary Wharf looks good at night, well, Gotham City and Hong Kong are amazing. The thing I didn't like, which I wonder if cos it was so big, was the scenes, especially in the Bat Vault, when the camera is focusing on one person, and the background is out of focus? I really didn't like how it looks far too fuzzy for me. If you do decide to go, Groupon is doing a deal for an Imax ticket for half price. only valid till the end of March.

About 20 minutes of the film were shot on the IMAX format (which uses the whole of the IMAX screen instead of just part of it). The opening introduction with the Joker, The Hong Kong scene, the final fight scene and various other bits and pieces.

lol, it was a different thing then at the Scala, we all knew either we would be seeing the films again on a VHS tape and actually hear what they are bloody saying (mind you , it didnt matter with the chinese movies) or that many of the movies we already saw and just sharing the fandom of it again :) but there would be different kind of audiences depending on the programs. Very often they would show all night art movies and the audience would be dead quiet, soaking up the ambience of a French noir world. But I'm with you and Her Majesty (Queen Beate) on the normal cinema ettiquettes. Scala was just a deliberate exception

Yes, your right, I think the Curzon on Shaftesbury Avenue seems to be bringing back those fan based movie nights, I recall reading an article about it the other day.

good for you and your singalongs! Not quite the same thing but you got me thinking there is one thing I never did but kinda wish I had, I just been too chicken to do so, and that's to wear a costume at a Star Wars premiere! I would wear a SW T shirts though. I missed that boat now I reckon because that SW fan phase has long diminished and the older I get, the more ridiculous it feels...though still, I do have regrets not going all the way with making myself look like a happy idiot in a Vader suit...

I've just checked on the Imax website and Dark Knight is only on tomorrow, but Inception has 3 more dates. I'll have to get myself a groupon voucher

I definitely noticed it when watching it on Blu ray at a friend's house. The aspect ratio kept on jumping around. Nevertheless, it was worth it for me, as the IMAX scenes truly are astonishing.
