I completely agree with TheyCallMeMrGlass.

The teaser poster and trailer for 'The Dark Knight Rises' has certainly caused some frenzied activity in the last fortnight ... but now what? The movie itself is not released for another year (366 days to be exact).

Well those looking for some Batman-related entertainment in the coming months should not despair as there are some other options available:

Batman: Live

From now until 9 October 2011, Batman Live, an all-new, live-action arena adventure, is touring the UK. This is a multi-million pound stage production, based on an original story and contains the theatrical extravaganza of thrilling stunts, acrobatic acts and illusions.

Batman: Year One

DC Universe Animated Original Movies have adpated Frank Miller's landmark 1987 DC Comics title, 'Batman: Year One' which depicts Bruce Wayne’s return to Gotham City story and recounts his journey from wealthy heir to masked vigilante. It is considered to be one of the greatest Batman graphic novels of all times and has even provided some inspiration for Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. A US release date for the DVD has been scheduled for 18 October 2011 with a UK release date to be announced soon.

A link to the trailer for this animated adaptation can be found here:

Batman: Arkham City

This is the follow up to 2009's hugely successful Batman Arkham Asylum, a computer game which not only holds a Guinness World Record for 'Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever', but also won the Best Game BAFTA Award that year. The sequel, Batman: Arkham City, is scheduled to be released in the UK on 21 October and will be available on the Xbox 360, Games for Windows PC and the PlayStation 3.

A link to the official website for this game sequel can be found here:

In addition, a link to the incredible 'Hugo Strange' cinematic trailer to promote the game is also below. Please note that age verification is required to access the trailer as it carries a 15 certificate given some scenes are considered unsuitable for younger viewers:

Will The Dark Knight Rises get Oscar 2012 acclaim or a snub?

So Nolan tends to be overlooked at the Oscars, especially last year with Inception, which I thought was fantastic, how it failed to win Best Original Screenplay is beyond me! But will the academy continue to discredit him because of his association with blockbuster releases?

There has been a lack of excitement concerning 'The Dark Knight Rises' after the release of last week's eagerly awaited teaser trailer.

There is of course the extras calls, new additions to the cast and minor comments from actors out and about this week promoting other movies (Michael Caine for Cars 2 and Tom Hardy for Warrior, although the latter remains tight lipped about his upcoming role as Bane).

However, what has been interesting most recently has been the fan art, some of which is quite clever.

For example, if you're looking for a background to your desktop you may enjoy this stunning triptych:

However, something a little more fun I came across was an animated take on 'The Dark Knight Rises Trailer'.

It certainly brought a wry smile to my face given I was a young fan of the original Batman: The Animated Series. Take a look and see what you think for yourself:

It would appear that significant filming has taken place over the weekend in Pittsburgh on the set of 'The Dark Knight Rises'. Fans have captured several photos and videos from the set, both of key individuals in the movie as well as some of the large scale action sequences.

Though some would deny that anything significant is given away by what has been captured thus far I would still forewarn fans of a SPOILER ALERT should they choose to click on the links below.

I hope those of you that do, enjoy these updates in any event.

The first official photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman from 'The Dark Knight Rises' has been released on-line.

A link to the picture can be found here (with access to a high resolution version of the same):

http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/08/0 ... ial-photo/

Clearly, this new incarnation appears to be a more grounded and realistic character, than those portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Returns (1992) and Halle Berry in the (awful) Catwoman (2004).

Rumours abound suggest that Christopher Nolan may leave out the Catwoman moniker in favour of the character being known by just her real name, Selina Kyle. Of course, only time will tell.

Actually, I suspect this just a transition of what will become catwoman. The girl riding that Batpod is still Selina Kyle. There is no way I can see catwoman in the picture...there is nothing that she is wearing suggests any links to a cat. The goggles she is wearing cant be hers. It looks too hi tech, something that belongs to Batman. And she is riding the Batpod. So somehow she has access to Batman's toys and is either joy riding them or using them on a mission of her own or even helping Batman.

Oh Knight N, dont even mention Halle Berry's horrible (though admittedly, very laugh out loud bad) Catwoman...it wasnt even Selina Kyle but another character anyway ;)
