Same old story. Will Ferrell attempting to be funny with his overdone, improvised acting (which was hilarious five years ago), and Mark Wahlberg attempting to, well, just be funny in general, but he just can't do comedy (I'll wait for The Fighter thank you...) and he has never been an actor known for his comedy value (except for The Happening of course). Essentially, McKay/Ferrell need some new ideas quick, but this act is getting very old, very quickly...

i watched most of this film and must say i thought it was crap personally its one of those films where they try to hard to be funny and the dialogue is corny i would not even class this a comedy.

I pa*d the price (not literally) for waiting until the last day to use my free Odeon vouchers, wanted to see Winter's Bone or Buried, but show times didn't really work out so plumped for this.

It was very poor, and I'm very surprised at some of the positive reviews in has got in the press.

There were a few decent lines, but not many and I guess if you're improvising for 2 hours then you might throw up a few gems.

Kept thinking of other action comedies that were both funny and exciting like Beverley Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon 2 or even Bad Boys 1, and this was a long, long below them.

Overall it's just a bunch of random scenes, some funny, some not, a style which works a lot better when the world is more surreal like in Anchorman, but there was no real chemistry for a buddy cop film and, despite what the director has said in interviews, it was hard to care about the plot/crime.

Really glad we didn't p*y the £15.60 it would have cost me without my vouchers.

I've seen this movie.
It ain't that great, considering how funny the trailer was compared to the actual movie itself.

I really enjoyed this film, it was a bit stupid, but very funny, the cinema had a good atmosphere and everyone was laughing. I wish Samuel L Jackson and The Rock were in it a bit more. The humour reminded me a lot of The Hangover.
8.5/10.
