The Other Guys
NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops in New York City. They don't get tattoos - other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg). You've seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They're not heroes - they're "the Other Guys." But every cop has his or her day and soon Gamble and Hoitz stumble into a seemingly innocuous case no other detective wants to touch that could turn into New York City's biggest crime. It's the opportunity of their lives, but do these guys have the right stuff?

Re: The Other Guys
Do you want to see him in a "serious" role? His next film showing at the London film festival "Everything must go", he's suppose to be playing serious.

Re: The Other Guys
hum...I don't think I've ever seen him in a serious role, except maybe in Stranger than Fiction. I did like that movie a lot, but I think it was more because of the story.

Re: The Other Guys
After the Girl who Played with Fire screening, this was a media screening in the same venue. 2 of my mates sneaked in, and neither of them liked it, not thier thing. I was really annoyed as I couldn't be bothered to stay and didn't think they'd get in.
I'm going to a screening of it next week at my old workplace luckily vx

Re: The Other Guys
Saw The Other Guys at a press screening and the free drinks beforehand certainly loosened the audience up. The film is ok enough and surprisingly Wahlberg is actually very good in a comedic role. It's just a shame the film wasn't a bit shorter as there are many moments where it feels as if the camera just rolled hoping to catch some improvised comedy gold which didn't happen.

I'd like to see this - the trailer is funny. Hope the funny bits aren't just in the trailer. How did the audience react, Paulkersey?Paulkersey wrote:Saw The Other Guys at a press screening and the free drinks beforehand certainly loosened the audience up. Re: The Other Guys
Saw this about 3 weeks ago and as a Ferrell fan, was devastated, besides Steve Coogan, it was an unfunny mess, as bad as Cop Out, so, that's not good.
