OOoh is it that bad?! I just got tickets for the new SFF code...though is it needing a 'Stylist' mag cutout or something?

Saw this at Shaftesbury Avenue Cineworld, which was about half full. Lovely to see milkchocmonkey and soonforgotten. Had an overzealous usher checking and stopping people eating food not brought from the cinema. She stood for a good time after the film started still checking!

The film starts off nicely but got boring in the middle for me, it was very sentimental, with some funny bits. Thought Anne and Jake were very good though. 5/10

Only about 40% full at the Trocaderro.

Enjoyable film, usual Rom Com storyline with the added benefits of nudity and decent comedy.

I particularly enjoyed the strict cinema usher stopping people eating food that they hadn't purchased at the cinema.

It made a nice change not to have someone behind me noisily eating half of Tesco Express's confectionary counter.

:giggle: Simon, I'm with ya there! Although I have been known to sneak snacks/sweets in, can't stand hearing the noises during the film. Whats even more annoying is when people bring things like takeaway chinese food into the screening. I mean, a sandwich, fine, ok. But kfc/chinese/fishnchips???????

We sat next to a bloke who pulled out chinese takeaway from his bag and proceeded to slurp his noodles with his chopsticks. Noisy and smelly...even if only to make me hungry! :p

What's better about cinema-b*ght snacks? They can be just as noisy and smelly, plus they are a lot more expensive.

There's not much worse than a hotdog or nachos for foul aromas and popcorn can be really annoying and noisy.

I usually take coffee in but they even tried to stop me doing that at the Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue when I went to the Wolfman screening. Managed to smuggle it in though.

What's annoying in a way is that they only care about their own revenue, hence why they want to stop people bringing food b*ght somewhere else. If they really cared about food being noisy and smelly they would not allow any in their screenings - I think the BFI is the only one who actually disallows food and doesn't sell any either.

Oh, I thought she was checking that nobody was using "recording equipment".... May I say that I've never seen something like that in the other cinemas? Whenever I go and see movies either on Sunday morning or at around lunch time, I always bring non-noisy or non-smelly food with me ;) and never got stopped or reproached by the ushers.

As to the movie, I thought it was a very nice comedy with some original bits and did very much appreciate Jake Gyllenhall in all his "glory" :p 7/10

Cinemas dont mind food being noisy and smelly or else they wouldnt sell nachos and hotdogs. They want to make some extra money and they are entitled to do so.
For the same reasons why you dont go into a pub and take your own drinks or into a restaurant and take your own food.
