Lol. Someone dared to say something against this and was immediately shot down in flames for his/her opinion. Just thought that 29 pages of praise was getting boring. Haha. Was only teasing. Clearly it is a very popular film and getting the just praise it deserves. Just wasn't really my cup of tea.

I didn't have great expectations but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Understanding some of the accents was difficult in places for me.

The cinema roared with laughter as there were funny moments throughout the film.

(so not to spoil it for anybody else) Sharon Osbourne would be impressed with this film !!!

I have spare tickets for tomorrow morning at Swiss Cottage. I posted them under Offered but nobody seems interested, seems such a waste. I have yet to contribute to the empty seats at fully booked venues phenomena but do wish not to start with this film. If anyone wishes to see it again please pm me

OH went to see this last week, he wasnt as keen on it as folk here, he thought it was slow and long and he thought it was more of a made for tv movie that his mum would watch i will reserve my judgement til i have a chance to see it for myself tho

Sorry stuartboy, I'm going to join the queue singing the praises of this film. It was a moving and powerful film about events and ways of life that are a very recent part of American history.

It was well acted with a strong cast throughout. I just liked the way the stories were told and the personal interaction between the characters. It was fairly slow moving and quite long -however unlike most films, it didn't suffer for it. It was a nice surprise to see Sissy Spacek - I didn't realise it was her at first as I don't think of her as that age.

I was advised to read the book first so I'm looking forward to it as I was told it is better than the film. 9/10.

Well the book goes into more details and some stories are slightly different. The film had to shorten and amend things, it's not necessarily worse as the film works well, but I agree, read the book. It's on a 2 for £7 deal at ASDA at the moment so there is no excuse not to.

I watched this a couple of weeks ago, taking along with me 2 men who love action movies.

I thought it started off a bit slow but was hooked once it started getting into the main storyline. The acting was brilliant, although I agree in some parts it was a little difficult to catch what they said due to the accents. I couldn't get on with the book so had my doubts, but loved the film.

Once the film finished I asked what the others thought and surprisingly even they enjoyed it. Only negative thing they said was it was starting to go on too long. 9/10

Saw this at a packed Odeon WH in Edinburgh this morning.

I really enjoyed it and it was a story well acted and told.

However, I did feel the conversations were spoken as written in the book and didn't flow so well as a screenplay. Not wholly controversail, but a wee bit I guess?

I'm seeing this tonight as my first preview, can't believe i never knew about this whole free movie malarky. Missing out or what.
Anyway, really looking forward to this tonight, it looks really moving! :)
